So, I survived the weekend in Dante's Inferno and made it to the other side safe and (mostly) sound. I'm still not quite caught up on sleep, but we're getting there. There are only three more weeks of class after this week, and then final papers. But since I did the translation over break, I only have three final papers, and I think it will be pretty easy breezy as long as I stay on top of things.
My birthday party Saturday night was a lot of fun. Six of us got together for wings from S'Wings, Settlers of Catan, Taboo, and a birthday cake that Shari baked. And my friends got together and got me a $100 Amazon gift card, which was awesome of them and which is already half spent on DVDs (a shock, I know!). I got (500) Days of Summer, the original Star Wars trilogy (which I really should have owned a long time ago), Zodiac, and the second Professor Layton game for the DS. Separately, via eBay and half.com, I also picked up District 9 and An Education. Buying DVDs makes me happy, in case you couldn't tell, haha.
Am thinking about applying to be a McDougal Fellow next year. They're the Student Life fellows who plan events in different categories (Arts and Culture, Service, Health and Wellness, etc.). I'd get an extra $4300 for the year, plus some free Yale stash. But it's also a wee-bit time-consuming, so I have to ponder the pros and cons.
Not too much else going on that's not school-related at the moment. You know, other than the usual stream of TV shows and trips to the grad bar. But yeah, that's me in a nutshell at the moment. Hope all's well elsewhere in this crazy world of ours.
