Even if she didn't always show it, Tara actually found Willow's reassuring very helpful. It was that that mostly kept her from declining any sort of invitation and hiding in her dorm room. Unfortunately, hiding was just kind of her natural inclination. It was a long ago ingrained habit for Tara now. It would be hard to shake completely.

She nodded when Buffy explained how things usually worked. "Sounds re...reasonable," she said to Buffy. Either they'd see them from a mile off or they'd more than likely come to them. She gave Willow a slight smile when she said that soon she'd be hunting vampire like a real pro. She reached out and squeezed Willow's hand gently. It was so nice to have someone believe in her.

"I...I can do improvising," Tara said. That's where her offensive spells came in. She wasn't as familiar with them as some of her other spells, but she had recently found a spell that actually allowed her to throw small balls of fire. Definitely useful against vampires. If she managed to make it work tonight, she'd teach Willow how to do it. Even though Willow didn't need much teaching anymore. Tara just had a little more witch book knowledge than Willow.

"Great!" Buffy said enthusiastically. She didn't want Tara to get discouraged, especially hunting vampires. And if you weren't doing it since you were sixteen, or helping since you were sixteen (like Willow), it was a pretty wacky world to get into to.

"Don't worry, Tara, You're with two old pros here. We'll show you the ropes and whatever other wrestling slang there is," she said, laughing to herself. She hoped she was being encouraging as she walked through the various areas of the cemetery casually.

She spotted some moving dirt ahead, "Ooh, jackpot." She grinned at the two witches, pressing forward and motioning them to follow. Yes, maybe she was a little too eager these days, but she might as well enjoy slaying if it was her destiny and all. A hand popped out of the fresh dirt and she stood at the foot of it, folding her hands as the vampires crawled slowly out of the grave.

Sure, she could just kill him while he oh-so-slowly crawled out of the grave, but where was the fun in that?

If they wanted wrestling slang they should have brought Xander along, Willow thought wistfully. As okay as Buffy was with her and Tara's relation ship? The redhead wasn't so sure Xander was. Awkward was what it was half the time. She hadn't had that with Oz but then he and Xander had been friends.

Keeping close to Tara, Willow followed Buffy, knowing the Slayer would move on her instincts. At least the girl seemed to have more fun with her destiny. And why not? Wasn't as if she could escape it, Buffy had tried that once before and that hadn't worked out all that great.

"Ohhh..." Willow found out she had an instinct of her own. She moved quickly in front of Tara when the hand popped out. Huh. Protectiveness, that was new.

Even though she had been completely expecting vampires tonight (that was what a vampire hunt was for, right, to find vampires?), she still nearly jumped a mile out of her shoes when she saw a hand pop out of the dirt of a freshly turned grave. She immediately felt a little silly for it, since she had both Buffy and Willow, so she wasn't alone, and she wasn't defenseless, but, all the same, seeing a hand come out of a grave was not a comforting thing.

She reached out and grabbed Willow's hand when she moved in front of her, but then stepped up and stood beside Willow. She didn't want to be a scaredy-cat. It wasn't like the thing was going to come out and eat her. Well...vampires did do that, but she was prepared if he came after her.

Her eyes flickered over to Buffy. "D...do we w...wait for it to dig itself out?" she asked haltingly.

Buffy looked back at the two witches, knowing she had a bit of time to not look at the slow-moving vampire. She saw Willow put out a protective hand to her girlfriend, and Buffy smiled to herself. This was good. Usually Oz had been the one to do that for Willow, but she was glad the redhead had a bit more confidence out in the cemetery.

"He'll get out," she told Tara with a nod, "Sometimes they're just slow and lazy. And sometimes they get stuck, which is always pretty hilarious, especially when they're trying to invoke fear in me and all that."

She looked back to the dirt as the suited vampire was finally pulling the rest of its legs out from the ensnaring root system. He stood up and dusted himself off as Buffy cocked a head at him. "There'll be a lot more dust where that came from in a minute," she said pleasantly. The vampire growled and lunged at her, but she sent a kick to his chest, causing him to fly back and topple over his own headstone.

"See? Nothing to worry about," she said, mostly for Tara's benefit before the vampire shook the confusion out of his head and headed for the witches instead of the Slayer.

"That's the creepy part," Willow said with a nod. She always thought the whole digging out thing was creepy. And traumatic and... yeah. Not of the good. But the moment they got out and opened their mouth she stopped feeling sorry for them.

Apparently witty humor and and humor in general totally went down the drain when dying and becoming an evil dead. And soon to be not funny dust. Of course, she thought with a small wince, Buffy's witty lines were sometimes... Yeah. Not that she was gonna mention that, Willow wasn't with the witty at all.

She did beam with pride when Buffy kicked the vampire's butt. "Buffy's really good at it," she told Willow, pulling the other witch out of the line of fire a bit. "Which is obvious of the duh, since she's a Slayer and stuff, but she's really good with the whole," the red head made a motion with her hand, "poof dust thing. Uhhuh!"

It was definitely creepy to watch as the vampire tried to dig itself out of the ground. It was something that, by nature, wasn’t supposed to happen, or at least that what her still human reactions were telling her. Dead things weren’t supposed to come back out of the ground, but it was definitely happening before her. She really wasn’t sure what to make of it. It made her want to hide and run away, but instead she just gripped Willow’s hand a little bit tighter.

It was amazing to watch Buffy go into full Slayer mode, though. Like watching a warrior come fully to life in front of her. She couldn’t imagine being so cavalier as to make wisecracks while fighting for her life against a vampire. She would do good not to scream, honestly. Casting spells was what she was good at, not thrusting pieces of wood into the chests of vampires.

Tara jerked over a little as the vampire started to head toward them, pulling Willow with her as she started to run the spell that she had memorized through her mind for tonight to make sure that she remembered it well enough to cast it if the vampire came any closer to them. Her eyes set in a determined look as the vampire started their way. She might be timid when it came to herself, but she’d do anything to protect Willow if it became necessary.

Buffy saw the fear creep into Tara's eyes and Willow remain confident, as the vampire headed towards the witches. Of course, it didn't get very far before she caught up to it and steered it around to face her with a smile spread wide across her face. She punched it and it fell back.

She slid her hand into her inner pocket of her leather jacket and retrieved a stake. Before the vampire had time to collect itself, she plunged it into its chest. Buffy stood up as it exploded into dust, wiping her hands and stuffing the stake back into her coat.

"Poof dust...and nothing to worry about," she agreed with Willow as she came to stand with the two witches again.

"Are you okay?" she asked Tara cautiously, but still keeping her cheerful tone.

(OOC: We should bring The Doctor & Rose in now. I'll post for Rose now.)

After their fast food adventure, Rose and the Doctor spent their time, as they usually did in a strange new place, wandering around the city. They had visited the mall and wandered by a shabby looking building called The Bronze. By nightfall, they found themselves near a graveyard.

Despite the fact that graveyards were traditionally creepy, Rose found them rather boring now that she'd seen so much actual creepy stuff with the Doctor. So, walking through one was more like walking through the park.

However, when they heard female voices, both of them ducked behind a rather large mausoleum. Something about..."Vampires?" she whispered with a furrowed brow to the Doctor. They kept watch and saw a man with a very disfigured face pull himself out of a fresh grave and attack the blonde girl. Not that this seemed to be a problem since she could fight it off pretty well.

And before they knew it, the guy in the dirty suit with the funky face had exploded into dust. She looked to the Doctor with her mouth open, her voice still barely a whisper, "Doctor, what the bloody hell was that?"

The Doctor was amazed that people would flock to what looked almost like an abandoned warehouse to hang out with one another. For someone who traveled around in what, on the outside, looked like a phone booth, he was amazed that people would want to hang out in a place that looked like it could come down on their heads. At least his ship would never look that kind of shabby.

When Rose pointed out the tiny blond girl (who bore a faint resemblance to Rose, admittedly), fighting with the vampire, he couldn’t help but be fascinated. It had been a LONG time since he had ran into anything like that. As the vampire exploded into dust, he wandered right out into the middle of it, all but walking through the explosion of dust where the vampire HAD been. “That *was* a vampire, Rose,” he said to her, smiling at the group of three girls as he walked up. “That one right there seems to have killed it, though,” he told her with a point in Buffy’s direction.

“Hello! Do you girls usually walk around killing vampires as a nightly thing or is this a onetime only show?” The Doctor really had no problem with walking right up to people and starting to ask questions about what they were doing. The three girls looked more like the types to be hanging around that Bronze place than wandering around in a graveyard with sharp pointed objects in order to kill vampires.

Sunnydale was DEFINITELY an interesting place.

"I'm f...fine," Tara said with a nod. She knew that she'd be OK. At least finding out about vampires hadn't been a shock for her in the first place. Still, seeing one pop into dust in front of her was a little shocking.

Tara couldn't help but feel relief when the vampire exploded into dust. One less vampire out on the streets possibly killing someone, and one less vampire tonight that might try to take a bite out of her, Willow, or Buffy. However, a look of pure bewilderment crossed her face when the odd man and the blond girl both came out of what seemed to be nowhere.

"Um...k...k...kind of a n...nightly th...thing," Tara stuttered. Well, not for her, but definitely for Buffy. She looked toward Buffy and Willow, the questioning look on her face asking if either of them knew who these two people were.

Buffy was about to lunge for this new guy and his female companion, but she didn't really get the vampire vibe from him, so she refrained. "Do you usually go around jumping out at people in cemeteries?" she retorted right back to him.

Rose was a bit taken aback that the Doctor had so casually approached these Americans. Not that she was all that surprised since the Doctor had no problem talking to anyone: people, aliens, monsters--they were all the same to him.

"And for your information, it's my job," Buffy told the strange guy. "You know, keeping the vampire population down so they don't feast upon the innocent civilians and all."

"Do you get paid?" Rose couldn't help but ask.

"I wish," Buffy told her, relaxing slightly, but still on her guard and standing in front of both Tara and Willow. "It's kind of my destiny." Ugh, she hated saying that. It sounded so lame.

"Hmm...not usually in cemeteries," the Doctor said quickly. "I do have a bit of a tendency to just jump out at people, though." At least it was something that he could admit to. He'd probably never change, though. Just wasn't his style to be too cautious when out and about.

Tara knew that Buffy's slayer-ness was semi-supposed to be a secret, but she supposed that if someone walked right in on a vampire hunt, then she could tell them. She wasn't sure what Giles would think about it, though. "I st...still think that she should b...be paid," she said with a slight smile. "It's a hard j..job."

When Buffy said 'destiny,' the Doctor actually put together who she was. "Oh! You're the Vampire Slayer then? That's amazing! I've only ever met one before! She was a Korean girl in the 1920s. Ran around with a demon hunter." This had him extra excited now. Getting to watch a Vampire Slayer in action was all sorts of interesting, and quite rare!

Tara tilted her head at the fast talking man. "Y..you don't look that old," she pointed out.

Rose couldn't help but giggle, "He does do that," she agreed. "Good thing you're not some horrible life-sucking alien or we might have been in trouble."

Buffy raised a brow at the word "alien." She knew lots of different kind of species of demons existed, but she'd never really thought about aliens. Maybe it was just some British phrase? If only Giles were here, he could deal with this a bit better.

Rose was impressed with the Doctor's story about the Slayer, while Buffy's mouth fell open. Thankfully, Tara spoke the obvious words that would bring her to her question.

"Yeah, seriously, how the hell could you have known someone in the 1920s? Unless you actually are a vampire. And what's she? Your midnight snack or your vampire girlfriend?" Buffy asked, narrowing her eyebrows. She didn't get the vamp vibe from either of them, but safer than sorry.

"Hey!" Rose protested, "I'm his companion."

The Doctor looked briefly aghast at the very idea of Rose being a vampire snack or a vampire girlfriend. "Come on now! Feel my pulse if you're really that curious," he said, holding out his wrist for her. Luckily, that should only get her one set of heart beat (each heart of his went through a different circulatory system), so it wouldn't freak her out too bad. "I'm so much more than a common vampire."

Tara couldn't help but giggle when the strange British man was so horrified at the idea of being a vampire, or his girlfriend (she said she was a companion, so did that mean girlfriend?) being one or a snack, either. Not that she'd totally be happy if someone thought the same of her and Willow. Oh no. She'd actually be quite upset. This man just came across as funny even when he was indignant.

"Companion and friend," the Doctor added, giving a slight smile to Rose. "We're both very much alive. She's human, even. Just like you and your friends." Although Slayers weren't totally human, but that was just semantics, really.

Buffy took the "Doctor's" arm, albeit a bit roughly, and felt his pulse pretty immediately. Plus, his skin wasn't ice cold, so he was definitely not a vampire. She put her hands on her waist, "Okay, so if you're not a vampire, then what the hell are you?" she asked.

"He's the Doctor," Rose answered plainly, smiling up at her Doctor.

"Doctor of what? Total weirdness?" Buffy asked, glancing back at Willow and Tara with a bit of amusement in her eyes. The Doctor and his companion didn't seem dangerous, just really strange.

"He's just...the Doctor," Rose said. She really didn't have an answer and wasn't sure how she could explain what a Timelord was or if these girls would even believe her. But if they believed in vampires, then anything was possible.
