Prompt: What’s your favorite way to relax?
Lorne flipped on the light switch to the club. It was four in the morning and he’d yet to be able to get past some of the visions and feelings he’d read earlier when the club had been open and roaring at full swing.
Demons intent on destroying the world or killing the people in it one by one. Humans who were so full of depression and anxiety that they couldn’t see the good around them or how lucky they were. Vampires who walk half in one world and half in the other; the mind of a demon and the heart of a human. Conflicting emotions and thoughts of love and hate, life and death.
His gaze roamed around the dimly lit club as he mixed himself a drink. It was quiet and calm everywhere around him. On the inside he was a ball of nerves. He made his way to the stage and turned on the sound system but left the bright lights of the stage off.
As he sat on the single barstool in the middle of the stage and sipped at his cocktail, he went through the nights events. The attempt to let the silence penetrate his mind and replace the chaos inside was futile.
After a long while, his voice replaced the silence, slow and soft. He sang for himself, no patrons about, no fair weathered friends who needed a pick me up. He sang just for him. The Host. The Green Demon that no one worried about. The one left alone at the end of the night. He sang for Krevlornswath; his heart, his soul.
And finally, he relaxed.

While the whole wide world is fast asleep
You lie awake and think about the girl
And never ever think of counting sheep
When your lonely heart has learned its lesson
Youd be hers if only she would call
