every where i wanted to go today was either closed down or about to close down..
down the street from my house is Hobby City.. a beautiful 10 acre hodge podge of lil pink cottages & indian inspired shacks all kept safe & sound by a giant rod iron gate that reads Hobby City.. the crown jewel of hobby city is The Hobby City Doll Museum which looks like a miniature white house..
This lil plot of land is like a dream.. when i saw it i wanted it.. i needed it.. i wanted to work here & live here ..but soon I am sorry to say this lil dream world of mine will be a parking lot or a mc donalds.. maybe a star bucks.. this guy outside of the museum said that they were trying to turn the place into a banquet hall.. he said if i hurry back this saturday i could see the museum before they kill it for good.. i will be there..
down the street from hobby city is Movieland Wax museum.. a huge beautiful of course now vacant building.. but outside they have their own hollywood walk of fame type thing with the foot prints & handprints of such stars as billy ray cyris, liberace, hulk hogan, dudley moore & elvira..
i will be back over the weekend to make a rubbing of liberaces cement space..
i feel sad & nostalgic over all these places i never got to see..
at least the breakfast place i wanted to go to was open it is called Po Folk & boy o boy what a treat.. breakfast cost me 5 bucks.. & thats including fresh squeezed orange juice.. i also bought a wooden nickel for a quarter & a bumper sticker that says "I may be Po but Im Proud" for 99cents..
