In the world of babies, but especially with adoption, it's recommended that when we get our little one, we "carry" the baby on us all the time for six months to promote bonding. So I've been researching baby slings, carriers and pouches for curvy women. The list consists of the Moby wrap, the Sleepybear Wrap and any ring sling, such as the Maya. I describe these to John, then show him a picture of the Maya sling.
"It's a curtain."
"It is not!" I protest. "It's a sling to carry the baby in and you can wrap it in many different ways depending on which way the baby prefers. And it has a pocket to hold extra stuff."
"It's a curtain with a pocket sewed into it."
"Are you not willing to wear it?"
John throws me a dirty look and scoffs. "Of course not. I'm doing everything you do. What color?"
"I like olive green."
"Yuck. What about dark blue?"
"Eh. Chocolate brown?"
"Let me see the picture again." *peers at the picture* "I'd do chocolate brown."
"Yay!"
"I can't believe we're going to pay $70 for a curtain."
*growls* "It is not a curtain."
