Heaven and Earth designs

I used to do cross stitch all the time as a kid.  Then I got bored with it and moved on to other things.  But Taryn introduced me to a website that has some of the most beautiful cross stitches I have ever seen.  Heaven and Earth Designs.  And holy fuck, they look hard.  These aren't cross stitch patterns.  These are paintings that have since been turned into a cross stitch pattern.  I've lurked on their site for a while (since this past fall) and have contemplated getting one, but I wanted to wait until THE one spoke to me (due to money and creative motivation).

Well.  I've found some that I have fallen in love with.  I spoke to Taryn, who showed me one she hasn't done yet and I was right.  Holy fuck hard.  I decided to start out again with something small (I've done a few big ones when I was younger, but they were things like teddy bears and simplistic doo dads) and I decided to make a bookmark.  That should be simple enough, right?  (I know these words will come back and bite me in the ass later.)  Tonight I ordered one that I adore.

And then, because everything was 30% off, I got an additional $5.00 off for signing up and I'm a creative masochist, I ordered the 18x22 design that I love so much.  I'll probably not get it done in this decade, but I have it.  It's beautiful, completely fitting to me and when it comes to creative endeavors, I have the tendency to be a tad impulsive.

I know, I know.  This is one more thing to add to my pile of art that I want to do and never get to.  Piano, Flute, Saxophone, Bells, Xylophone, scrapbooking, jewelry, painting, sketching, photography, writing and now this.  All I've thrown myself into 100% in the past, all I've moved on from save writing, with the intention of one day doing it again.  After all these years, I hope I can remember how the hell to do this.  Maybe I should've started with one of those 3x2 ducks you see at every craft store in the nation.  Oh well!  No guts no glory!
