I'm so excited to support your team again! The MS Society is near and dear to my heart because of my mom.
Here's a little something to make you feel even better about what you're doing: Because of, in part, support from the MS Society, a new drug to treat and recede the effects of MS was developed in the last few years. After sitting on a waiting list for some time, my mom was finally approved to try the new med and has been receiving treatments for about the last year. Instead of giving herself an injection every other night, she's now able to do a receive a month IV treatment. At her last brain scan, my mom learned that not only is the new drug keeping her in remission, but it has actually started to reverse some of the damage that the MS she's been living with for 30+ years. Additionally, 85% of folks who have been diagnosed with MS for at least 15 years need some form of motor assistance, but she has never needed it. So now, in addition to avoiding ever losing full use of any part of her body, the damage is actually repairing itself. How amazing is that???
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for doing this. It means the world.
She told me about this, and I wanted to make sure I read this myself and thanked you for being so supportive in our efforts. I'm so glad to hear she's making progress!
