So my mom forwarded me an e-mail from The Learned Owl (the stereotypical quaint small town bookstore in Hudson) about
the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. They're donating 10% of the pre-sales to an Akron charity that gives books to poor children. And that really makes me want to get my copy from the Learned Owl. Unfortunately, the Learned Owl and all of downtown Hudson is freaking insane when Harry Potter books are released. The funny thing? I'm a HUGE Harry Potter fan. Yes, I'm a huge dork, but I do love HP. But even I look at that event as INSANE. I want my book at midnight, yes, but I don't really want to have to brave the crazies. I did have to brave the crazies in Cincinnati for the last book, but that was just one Borders and I was able to sit on the floor reading magazines until my number was called to get my book (at like 1:30 - long night). Maybe I should just order it on Amazon. But then it won't get there until like mail time on July 21. And that's just not acceptable.
Okay and seriously? July 21? They couldn't have pushed it back 10 days to July 31? Harry's birthday. Wouldn't that have made more sense? I mean, it's the last book. I'm just saying. I'm sure it's so they can release it on a Friday night at midnight. Helps for all the parents who have to take their kids out to get it right when it comes out. That wouldn't work so well on a Monday night, what with work on Tuesday morning.
I really can't wait for this book.
I'm pretty sure it will be like the last book, where I sit in a chair reading all day until I finish it.
And then immediately start it again.
