Who's Cody Simpson? Man, it sucks to not own a freakin' TV, I don't know what's happening around the world anymore...
Concerning BTR: I don't really know why they aren't big yet. I can't really estimate how much they promote their songs in the states, the quality of their concerts and how well their music is received, because I'm living over the great pond and again, don't own a TV, lol. If it's anything like in Europe than it's probably the Nickelodeon label they're forced into. Hardly anyone over 12 probably watches Nickelodeon around here. I only can name one radio station playing their songs and it's designed for kids only. MTV and other channels don't play their music videos as far as I know. They don't give concerts in major concert halls with widely spread promotion, do they even give concerts outside of the US at all? I don't know it, to be honest :O They don't even promote their visits all that much. Last time they stayed a few days in Berlin and gave a really small accoustic concert on a side walk, I heard about it a week later...
To sum it up, hardly anyone knows them around here and the few people who do are under 10 or don't care. I guess people mostly enjoy their show, but don't care much for their music. I don't really care much about it either, but that's more a thing of personal taste. I enjoy some of their songs occasionaly, I bought the second album, but I wouldn't go to a concert and I don't really make an effort to keep up to date with their RL stuff. Maybe most people feel the same in some way or another?
Can't say anything about One Direction, I watched one music video of them while working out at the gym and never heard anything about them ever again outside of discussions taking place in the btr fandom. Don't know why they're much more popular than our boys, their music doesn't sound much different or anything...hmmmm...
