A bit of good news
Seeing as I've been totally sucking at updating my LJ. For the past month I'd been working at a little mom & pop computer repair shop, but had received a call from MSU [Michigan State University] with a job offer. I'd had two interviews with them and had heard there were 17 people that made the second cut. So I was extremely surprised that I was the guy they offered the position to. Not that I don't have skills and all, but that's a lot of people to wade through.
So tomorrow is my first day at the job, and I'm pretty ecstatic about it. 7 years of living near poverty and now I'm back to making the same cash as when I was a contractor to the FAA. Crazy. I'm even thinking of buying a new car this year (WTF?). My poor old Saturn has held up for about 12 years with close to 280K miles on it, but the poor baby needs a break. Figure by summer I'll have a new ride. Funny how life works out..
