"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me. I lift my lamp beside the golden door."
Why have these words been forgotten?
Why is it that my grandparents were welcomed to this country, yet now others are refused entry?
I know both sides of the debate, I just can't reconcile the words engraved on the Statue of Liberty with current immigration policies.
