Lavender's Status as at 31st July, 1998
Following the Battle of Hogwarts Lavender spent a period of time recovering from her injuries in the Infirmary. When she was able to be moved she returned to her parents home to continue her recovery.
She has testified at the trials of the Carrows and Fenrir Greyback. However, seeing the latter at the Wizengamot was very difficult triggering a renewal of the nightmares that had plagued her in the initial days following the attack.
During mid-July Mr. Ollivander came to visit her parents for a few days. Her father had long been hoping that he would agree to write a book on wand lore but Mr. Ollivander declined declaring that these should remain trade secrets. Lavender found herself very interested in aspects of his craft and engaged him in conversation throughout his stay.
Before he left to begin the process of re-opening his shop in Diagon Alley she asked him whether he'd consider taking her as an apprentice. He deferred making any decision until after she had managed to resit her NEWTS examinations.
Hearing that Parvati, Neville and others were helping with sorting things out at Hogwarts she has recently been joining them there. Like Parvati she wishes she could be based at Hogsmeade rather than apparating between home and Hogsmeade. She also yearns for greater independence. Hearing that Neville is looking for a place to rent she's dropped a few hints his way as to how much fun it would be to share a house.
