so.....
I took the three day weekend..and did something really useful!
Curtis, Olivia, and I went on a short foray across Southern Georgia!
Firstly, meeting at 7am to drink to the Okofonokee Swamp, where we canoed and tooks tons of photos of the gorgeous swamp.
And then, many more dirt roads later, to the Georgia coast, Jekyll Island, where we watched the sunset, and then drove around, enjoying the beaches.
We spent the night in this shady Days Inn in Brunswick...
and got up early the next morning to watch the sun rise over Sea Island (or was it St. Simon's Island, one of the "Golden Isles")
and we wandered the Island a bit, and enjoyed the morning.
that afternoon was devoted to a walking tour of Savannah. Which, btw, is absolutely gorgeous.
Its like the French Quarter (and kinda Magazine St/Loyola Area), but bigger, and cleaner, and with more parks.
I really liked it. We tried to walk through all the parks and see all the sites to see and stuff. but one day just isn't enough....
have to go back sometime...I hear St Patty's Day is HUGE there.
But anyways, we got back in ATL late last night..
and it was a very good trip.
