Parties and Footy and Beatles...oh my!

Hey there, minna-san, how are you? Good? I hope so...

This weekend, I was away at my cousin's house to join in the party to celebrate Aunt Linda turning 50 (officially it will be Monday, Uncle Bill's b'day the day after XDD). There were so many people there, even family I'd never met, or hadn't see since I was a little girl, mainly distant cousins and second-cousins. I joined the kids in playing a game of cricket, and while I couldn't bowl nor field very well, I kept doing well with batting.

Aunt Linda didn't want a party, saying it made her feel old, so Angie made the party a surprise. Everybody had a very pleasant time, whether they were drinking around the fire, dancing to 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s music (I joined in when Nutbush City Limits played), or watching the footy semi-final game between Collingwood Magpies and Geelong Cats.

I couldn't get photos at the party, my camera wasn't working...

Oh yes, mentioning the footy semi-final, I am so happy because...

GEELONG CATS ARE IN THEIR THIRD CONSECUTIVE GRAND FINAL!!!!!! *waves flag*

Cats defeated the Magpies 120-47 (*squee*) and so will be playing against a team that was unbeatable up to a couple of weeks ago (they broke the Cats' winning streak...) the St. Kilda Saints. Cats are so going to win!!!

Today while waiting for Angie to drop me off back home, I was watching cable and on one of the music channels, they are having a Beatles' month!! XDDD I saw the end of Help!, one of the movies (I saw it a few years ago when we hired it on video, I love that movie!!), some clips of their songs when the band was together, and then the top 20 solo/other band songs from after their days in The Beatles. I knew Imagine (John Lennon) would've been number one, and it didn't surprise me when I found most of the songs were John Lennon and Paul McCartney (most were with Wings), there were about three Travelin' Wilburys songs (George Harrison was part of the group) as well as one solo George song, and only two Ringo Starr songs (one was La De Dah, the other was Never Without You, which to me sounds like he was reminiscing his days with the others as part of the Fab Four and some of the lyrics sounded like dedication to the two who had passed away, the song was on the album Ringo Rama).

Later this week I'll be going to the movies with Angie and her daughters Courtney and Telisha to see Aliens in the Attic, I'm looking forward to that.

That's all for now, minna-san. Ja ne!
