Still working on the screencapping for the Beatles userpics, but they're coming!

New purchases! Aside from some more Pokemon from the pkmncollectors comm (Pikachu, Bonsly, blind-bag custom plush, Diancie, mini figures of Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Togepi and Marill), there's another Beatles purchase I made. Last year, they released K'nex Yellow Submarine sets where you can either get the Beatles in their usual outfits from the film or as Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. The latter also came with a set where you can build your own submarine and came with two Chief Blue Meanies. >.> Yeah, no Jeremy or Old Fred or even Max! Anyway, I got the separate figures set of the boys in their usual outfits. I finally found an affordable pack on Ebay. I plan on getting the Sgt. Pepper's set too, but not the buildable submarine.

Mum's birthday was last week, 56 years since she was born. Instead of hiding in bed all day, I had a Beatles movie marathon. I felt it appropriate since she was the one to introduce them to me through Yellow Submarine, and it was a shared interest. I bet if Mum was still physically here, we may have even done that. =D

Two vids featuring the late George Harrison with a member of Monty Python. First, is his appearance as Pirate Bob in Rutland Weekend Television's Christmas special. It's mostly safe, though if you consider "up you then" offensive...it's only said once in response to "no pirate sketch". Basically, George decided to make fun of the My Sweet Lord lawsuit, so he and Eric Idle (host/creator of the show) decided to play it up a bit. Watch to the end for a good laugh and a catchy pirate song co-written by George and Eric.

Also, here's his cameo in Monty Python's Life of Brian, the film he helped fund when the original company pulled out due to the concerns of blasphemy. George wanted to see it, so he helped fund the making of the film. Heh, now that I know which scene he's in, it's even more obvious now that he's waving to bring attention to him being there, and John Cleese is actually pointing at him. The "hello" was a dub-over done by Michael Palin to try to bring it home just who was in that scene.

He's the one you can see in the thumbnail with the red headwear.

Finally, I've been watching What Would You Do? between Beatles marathons. It's a pretty good show when people show there is good in the world. Of course, I advise against reading the comments on the youtube videos because...well, it's just heartbreaking when people don't get the point and start being bigoted, offensive, sexist, racist...not just trolls either.

I'm still listening to Beatles music, and am going to see if the local libraries have copies of the CDs released when they went their separate ways. I'd love to have Imagine as part of my playlist.

So, yeah. That's been life lately.

what would you do?, george harrison, life of brian, anime shopping, rutland weekend television, john cleese, the beatles, eric idle, pokemon, monty python, life
