Hey there, minna-san! How are you? Good? I hope so...
First, a vid I uploaded the other day!

This performance is by Tanaka Hideyuki (Clavis), Tobita Nobuo (Lumiale), Iwanaga Tetsuya (Sei-Lan) and Touma Yumi (Mel), and it's from Angelique. The live performance is from the event Ange Party. I got the DVD myself, and want to spread some love for Tobita Nobuo!
(Speaking of Tobita...
amethyst_hunter, you mentioned in a comment almost a month ago that you'd like a CD of all of Tobita's songs...would you like me to make one for you? I have a lot of songs...!)

Okay, now for news. The other night, I attended my older cousin's engagement party. Things were going well for the most part, we talked and did a little karaoke (my younger cousin and I sung to Wannabe by the Spice Girls). But then, Jason came over to me and collapsed against me in tears. He'd heard some shocking news.
Uncle Greg's second-wife Brenda has been diagnosed with breast cancer, and when he was with her the other day in the oncology unit at the hospital, he saw Dad there as well. In that unit.
The thought of also losing Dad to cancer has terrified Jason and I since we were kids, after losing Mum that way, but what made it worse was Dad hadn't said anything to us about if he's even being tested.
I spoke to Pa today about it, and he said Dad was there to get tested, but apparently he's clear. He only knows what Dad told him. Dad's health hasn't been the greatest all year, he'd been admitted into hospital twice because of his bowels (the second time, I didn't know until the day he was being released. I understand he wants to keep us from worrying, but it's hearing it from someone else who doesn't quite know the whole story that makes it worse. I can be a bit over-the-top in my worrying, but after my childhood, can you blame me?
Dad should be able to tell us what's wrong. We're adults now, not children going through primary school or kindergarten. I wish he was able to be more open with us...

Bad news over.
Pa took me birthday shopping. On the list, it was meant to be a set of pots & pans and a clothes horse or two. Instead, Dad's giving us some old pots and pans (that are as good as new), while Pa got me a clothes horse, and...ready for this...?
CARDCAPTOR SAKURA ON DVD, ORIGINAL JAPANESE, UNCUT AND REMASTERED!!! Granted it's the first collection, but still! This is the man who refused to get me anything of anime at least three years ago because he believed it to be childish. But, when he saw Cardcaptor Sakura on the list, he asked how much, where to get it, how many disks and how many episodes. Satisfied, he took me to Videoland and got it! And, thanks to my Madman membership card's discount (they stamped the Madman logo this time), he saved $6!
Dad also sent me a message today to tell me there will be another family dinner on Dec. 8th. Nan and Pop are coming to Bendigo to visit! I get to see them just after my birthday and before Christmas! *flails* I didn't expect that, they said they were gonna lay off on the travel now that Pop is 80. I'm really looking forward to that!!

The latest episode of Shirokuma Cafe focused intently on the meaning of close friendships. (I swear, I can picture the characters sending letters to Princess Celestia talking about what they learned!). The first episode focuses on Wolf (voiced by Sugita Tomokazu), who'd left his job at Monkey's bakery after hurting his back. He goes to work at Tiger's (voiced by Taniyama Kisho) sweets shop (since Tiger needed an extra hand after a part-timer quit). Panda Mama suggests to Wolf to apply for Donkey's bakery, and Tiger agrees with her after tasting Wolf's red bean buns.
Wolf applies for the position, because it'll take him one-step closer to his dream of opening his own bakery one day. Tiger is the one most on edge while awaiting the call, and Wolf got the job! Oh man, the bromance of those two! And how Grizzly and Lion offer their help to Wolf's career advancement as well!!
In the second episode, Penguin hasn't been visiting Shirokuma Cafe! Where is he? Llama informs the group that Penguin has been visiting Brown Bear's Cafe in another town. Shirokuma goes there to find out just why, and it turns out the recently returned-to-bachelor-status Penguin has a crush on the waitress, who happens to be a female Emperor Penguin (voiced by Tamura Yukari). Shirokuma and Penguin talk, and Penguin asks if Shirokuma is mad that he hasn't been visiting. What Shirokuma said next had me clutching my pillow and squeeing about the friendship dynamics of the main Cafe Quartet (Shirokuma, Penguin, Panda and Sasako). He said "Even if you don't visit my cafe, we're always going to be friends."

Saw the Pinkie Pie episode of FiM last night (ugh, took ya long enough, Tam!). Poor Pinkie...the look of utter dismay on her face as the copies bounced through Ponyville and caused trouble...the confusion she felt if she was the real Pinkie or not...I was crying. Seriously. It's usually Fluttershy who makes me cry, but seeing Pinkie so down...it's just like Party of One all over again when it comes to my feels.

Whew! Long entry!
That's it for now, minna-san! Ja ne!
(10 days until I'm 27! Yay!)
