Hatoful Kareshi Squee
Hey there, minna-san! How are you? Good? I hope so...
I reawakened my love of a certain otome game that shiroi_ume introduced me to late last year. I'm speaking of course of Hatoful Kareshi.
So far, there are four chapters of the manga on the net (I love it, they even include the pseudo-human appearances!) and three drama CDs have been released. At the moment, I'm also awaiting the release of the full translated version of Holiday Star.
I heard the drama CD Primal Feather last night, and ye gods, I really do adore Anghel! Sakurai's acting for that character was just so...I was between squees and giggles throughout the whole thing! Honestly, I just...ANGHEL!!!
The fourth last track involves a battle between Anghel, Ryouta (Textora Melodia Funeris), Oko San (Great Pigeon) and Iwamine-sensei (Wallenstein, considered the villain in Anghel's delusions). Throughout it all, Nanaki-sensei was commenting on how cute Iwamine-sensei looked while Sakuya was crying for Iwamine-sensei to cease embarrassing himself any further.
They had a bird call track of course. Really, the only seiyuu I can identify through it is actually Wakamoto Norio as San and Koyasu Takehito as Iwamine-sensei. Everyone else though...very hard to tell them apart because they all sound the same while making "coo coo" sounds.
I can't wait to hear the third CD as Miki Shinichirou was added to the cast as new bird Nishikikouji Tohri. I can't wait to hear his acting for that role! I was only briefly introduced to Tohri during the demo of Holiday Star.
In the path in the demo, he claims to run a magazine editing company and asks Anghel if he'd be willing to have his manga published there. But, he keeps taking Anghel's blood so he can create this machine that amplifies Anghel's ability and transfer it into reality using fangirls whims. Heh, it worked for a while, but then came the shipping wars and the machine was unfunctional. Meanwhile, Anghel, Hiyoko (player character), Ryouta, San and Nanaki-sensei were acting as Pretty Coore (I'm sure you get that little joke) and fighting Tohri's machine. They win.

It's still hard to believe the popularity of this game, considering it was meant to be an April Fools joke, but expanded into something more when fans popped up. There's even merchandise available! I wanna get a mug with the birdies on it...
