The Two Series That MADE My Childhood
Hey there, minna-san! How are you? Good? I hope so...
When I was a small child, there were only two series that helped make my day complete (especially if they actually aired the same day! XD)
Certainly, I was fond of Care Bears, Rugrats and many other series on back then, but it didn't kill me if I missed any episodes. No, only two series had me wanting to watch each and every episode, and if I missed one, I'd cry. (This is before I was 14 and therefore intrigued with Pokemon)
I am of course talking about...
Madeline and Albert the Fifth Musketeer!
When I was starting to learn French, Mum came into the bedroom and turned on the TV to Madeline and the Gypsies. Well, consider me interested! Every day following, I'd watch the series whenever it was on! She was a small redhead who never allowed her size to stop her from having fun, being brave and living life. Can't think of a better moral, can you?
As for Albert, I was intrigued by the previews they'd shown on Nickelodeon leading to the premiere, and so the family sat down to watch it. We all laughed at many points, but from that first episode, I'd been hooked in! Why? Albert is petit in stature, but never mind that, he's incredibly smart, always coming up with ideas and inventions.
Now, seriously, I've always been short for my age, so the lesson Madeline and Albert brought into my life really helped! I was always smallest in my class, but I didn't let that get me down. Rather, I used my height to my advantage (I used to go by children's passes on the bus and in the cinema until I was 17 when they started asking ^^;) and I was able to squeeze into smaller places my taller classmates and friends couldn't. Certainly, I needed a chair or something to reach something high, but *shrugs*.
I wonder if without Madeline and Albert in my youth, would I have allowed my height to bother me? Or would I still think that it's perfectly fine?
Also, both series have got a serious ear-worm for their theme songs!

He's Albert the fifth musketeer
Once I hear those songs just once, they'll be in my head all day! I'll go around humming either of them, depending on which I'd just heard. XD Not that I mind, I rather like the songs!
