Here's A New Meme!!

Nov 03, 2011 21:06

Hey there, minna-san! How are you? Good? I hope so...

Okie-dokie! Got another meme from amelia_seyroon...

Comment with "Form a contract with me?" and I will list five things I associate with you. They might make sense, or they might be totally random. Then, post that list, with your commentary, to your LJ (or just add a reply back to me). Other people (including me) can get lists from you, and the meme merrily perpetuates itself.

She gave me Uta no Prince-sama, lesbianism, my username (time to explain what it means), seiyuu and One Piece.

Uta no Prince-sama

A couple of months ago, I was looking at Miyano Mamoru's page on Anime News Network, seeing what other series he'd been in. I saw one title that I'd been seeing in comms at that time, it was Uta no Prince-sama. I decided to see what else I could find out about it, and saw the excellent vocal cast (though I hardly knew two of them at that current moment). I then heard the song Maji LOVE 1000%, which was the ED theme of the series, and thought "this might be a good series to check out".

I got around to reading comments on other people's blogs to see what the show was meant to be about, and when I saw "like Kiniro no Corda, only with pop music instead of classical music", I decided "yep, definitely watching this!". I was able to get about five episodes at that time, and just after the first episode, I knew that I was gonna enjoy the series. And I did. Still do, as my entries have been showing.

Lesbianism

As you all know, I'm a lesbian. I'm thankful my family and friends (that I've come out to) have been very understanding. I've been looking for a girlfriend for a while, but the last girl I'd met had moved to Darwin, though we keep in touch through facebook. Dad has been listening out for anywhere I can try to meet someone (and told me there was a pub here that had a gay/lesbian night). Of course, since I'm not one to always go out to the pub, I haven't been to it yet.

I'd realised my preferences a few years ago, but it wasn't just because of the Good Friday incident or always being picked on by boys. I'd also had a girl-friend in the past who fooled around with me. We were both fifteen, and we experimented with each other. I have to admit, during that time, I'd found we had a stronger connection, and I fell in love with her. But, she only saw me as her friend, and now has a boyfriend. Sometimes, I still find myself thinking of the moments we'd had in the past.

My Username

I have to admit, btamamura is quite out there, huh? But, here's the backstory to my username...

A lot of you know that in the past, I'd written self-insert fanfiction to deal with stresses I was facing. It was as if the characters were cheering me up. I sometimes wrote my real name, those were the more private fics. I'd once written myself into one with the Sanzo-ikkou (it's mostly Goku, Gojyo and Hakkai looking after me) from Saiyuki and used a different name.

A few years before then, I'd tried looking up what my name would be in Japanese, and one site said my first name would be Tamamura. So, I'd had that as my name in the fic. The "b" stands for Burutsu, which was the surname I'd chosen to use.

I got an account on livejournal, but the only name I'd wanted to use at that time was Tamamura, as I was still writing those fics (which somehow became not just therapy fics, but also, I was the fifth member of the Sanzo-ikkou and reincarnated from Tenpou's heretical younger sister), but then thought about having the Burutsu part there as well. Of course, that would make it too long. So, I went with btamamura, and that's the username I've chosen for many sites these days.

Seiyuu

Heh. Let's just say it started with becoming a fan of Pokemon, becoming a fan of Tracey Sketchit, looking up fansites of him, learning who voiced him in the Japanese version, hearing voice-clips (including his solo in the song Minna de Arukou), becoming intrigued with Seki Tomokazu, getting Japanese One Piece songs, becoming intrigued with Hirata Hiroaki, watching Slayers in Japanese, becoming intrigued with Ishida Akira and it just continuing like that through the years to cut short that story.

I have to admit there are times I can be such a seiyuu geek. It's amusing and yet, to some people, annoying as well.

One Piece

A few years ago, Cartoon Network started talking about a new anime called One Piece, even playing the theme song on the commercials. I thought about checking it out, and found I knew half of the dub cast thanks to Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh!. I found the series quite hilarious and yet, the pirate theme also had me hooked. I'd even gone out and bought a toy sword to wear on my belt as I walk around the house, thanks to Zoro.

I definitely prefer the Japanese version, the seiyuu are just awesome! Hirata Hiroaki as Sanji...<333 Though, the FUNimation dub isn't bad either. It's much better than the 4Kids dub!! (Though, I think the only thing I did like about the 4Kids dub was the chance to hear Ed Paul AKA Ted Lewis as some characters)

Okay, that's it for now, minna-san! Ja ne!
