I need to give some background on it before you read, though. A friend and I have been writing a fic together via chat and email for a few months now, and in it, we have given both Sam and Dean their happily ever after. Both men have married and are starting their families. Sam's wife is Rose, an OFC we created, and Dean's wife is Jamie, from the ep "Monster Movie." Sam and Rose have twin daughters, Angel and Julia, and are expecting another child, a son they have already named Robin (Robert Dean, actually.) Dean and Jamie are also expecting, a son they plan to call Ethan.
Rose is having a difficult pregnancy, so she has to take it easy, though she's not stuck to strict bed rest. She's still able to get out and about.
We have chosen to make our fic AU, obviously, as we have chosen to keep Ellen and Jo alive, as well as other plot points I won't go into right now.
Dean is drawn to Angel. She's like a mini-Dean in personality as well as eye color. Julia is very much like her Daddy. Looks, personality and eye color.
If you have questions after you read, just ask. I hope you enjoy this little slice of life from our version of the Winchester family.
Oh, and the twins are between one and two years old. I know we have them speaking more clearly than they should be at that age, but we figured what the hell!
Schmoop lies ahead...enjoy!

It was a lovely spring day, and Dean was more than happy to have the day off from work. He'd been working long hours, and when the shop owner almost literally kicked him out for the day, Dean decided he wasn't upset about it. He wanted to spend more time with his family.
Jamie and Rose had decided to spend a relaxing morning shopping. Rose was feeling good and had cabin fever, so Sam suggested the girls enjoy a day out. Since Sam had to work, it was up to others to wrangle the twins. Dean had spent more time with Angel as of late, so he decided to take Julia for the morning, leaving Angel to be corralled by Ellen and Jo. Angel adored her Auntie Jo, so Dean didn't feel guilty leaving her behind when he gathered up Julia and took her back to his and Jamie's house (after spending a little time in the girls' favorite park.)
Since the girls spent a lot of time at Dean and Jamie's, there were several of their toys lying about. Dean noticed a small bottle amongst them, so he grabbed it up, along with his niece, and they sat on the porch steps. He put her on his lap and showed her the bottle.
"Bubbles!" Julia squealed and clapped her little hands.
Dean laughed as he unscrewed the cap, taking care not to spill any of the bubble liquid on himself or the little girl. He dipped the wand into the liquid, and held it out for Julia to blow into.
She covered her little face with her hands, playing peek-a-boo with her favorite uncle. “Come on, Julie-bug, you can do it!” Dean gently urged. “Don’t be shy - just blow a little air out.”
Julia uncovered her face, and gave a tiny puff of air. Her face registered disappointment with her results when only one meager bubble popped out. She turned and looked up at him, “No goo’, De-De,” she said softly.
Dean kissed the top of her head. He didn’t want his precious niece to have a second of self-doubt. “Hey, don’t worry! It’s your first try - you just need to try again, and I know you’ll do it. Watch me.” Dean dipped the wand again, and Julia’s eyes followed his every move. “Now you put your lips together, like…” Dean paused. How to explain this? The idea came to him in a flash, and he grinned. “Like you’re gonna give a kiss. I KNOW you know how to do that - you’re a Gold Medal kisser!” Julia clapped and blushed, giggling the whole while.
Dean pursed his lips and blew, and a stream of bubbles floated out and up into the air, and Julia clapped more and cooed with delight. De-De was so smart!
Dean re-dipped the wand, and held it out so she could try. “Now it’s your turn, sweetheart. Come on and try!”
“’kay. I twy.” Julia took a deep breath and brought her lips together like she was going to give a kiss.
“Very good!” Dean said, “now blow out the air.”
Julia blew - and gasped in wonder at the stream of bubbles that flowed from the wand. Each ball a perfect sphere, rainbow tinted, the bubbles soared into the air and drifted on the soft spring breeze.
Now that she knew how to do it, Dean discovered how intent his little niece could be. Long after he would have wanted to set the bottle aside and do something else with her, Julia insisted on blowing more bubbles. So, 'patient Uncle Dean' sat there with Julia on his lap, and time after time, dipped the wand into the soap mixture so she could blow tiny bubbles to her heart's content.
Finally, when the bottle was empty enough that there wasn't enough soap left to fill the wand, Dean put the lid on the bottle and told Julia, "Uncle Dean will make more, baby girl, but let's play with something else for now, ok? The next time you and Angel are here, I'll have more soap ready for you. I promise."
Julia knew Uncle Dean would do as he said, so she didn't pout about no more bubbles. "'kay, DeDe. Mo' bubbles nex' time."
Dean grinned and hugged her tight. "That's my girl." Then, after kissing her temple, he asked, "What do you want to do now?"
Julia gave him a huge smile, her dimples as deep as her Daddy's. "Air'pwane!"
Dean laughed, and said, picking her up in his arms and swinging her around, making her giggle with glee. "You got it, short stuff!" He carried her out into the yard and together they lay on the grass. "C'mon, honey...balance on my feet," he said as he lifted his feet into the air. Julia rested her belly against his bare feet and held onto his hands as he lifted her up. He made engine noises for her as he swung her around in the air...
At first Julia was a little nervous, but she didn’t show it. Then as she began to get into the game she added her own little airplane noises to mix with Dean’s. He “flew” her around for the better part of twenty minutes, and the contented smile never left his handsome face. “Okay, comin’ in for a landing,” he announced, gently lowering her to the ground. “Was that fun?” he asked, sitting up, even though her breathless face, wreathed in a joyous smile told him his answer.
“Wots of fun!” Julia replied, placing her arms around Dean’s neck and gave him a love-filled baby kiss. “Wove ‘oo, De-De,” she said, her eyes shining with adoration.
Dean blinked back a tear - he was NOT going to turn into a girl in front of Julia, he just wasn’t. Let Sam have the emo moments - Uncle Dean was all about having fun. He just cuddled the tiny child to his chest and rained down kisses on her chocolate brown locks.
“Uncle Dean loves you, too, Julia,” he whispered into her hair, his voice thick. “He loves you so very, very much.” He stretched out on the lawn, and wiggled his toes in the soft grass. Julia lay beside him and he chuckled as she copied him, wiggling her little toes in her tiny white sneakers. “Want those shoes off, sweetheart?” he said, nodding at her shoes. In those rare moments when he’d been allowed to be a kid, going barefoot in the grass had been on pleasure Dean had relished.
Julia nodded, smiling and holding up her foot. “Yes, p’ease,” she asked sweetly.
“Okay, then.” Dean sat up and pulled her into his lap, taking off her sneakers and her tiny white socks, putting them next to his own shoes. After he’d taken off her socks, his picked up one of her little feet. “Daddy ever play this game with you?” he asked, tweaking her big toe. “This little piggy went to market…”
Julia clapped her hand over her mouth and giggled. She loved this game - both Daddy and Mommy played it and it was so much fun!
“This little piggy stayed home,” Dean continued, moving down to her next toe and giving it a wiggle.
“This little piggy had -“
“Pi’za!” Julia shrieked through her building laughter.
Dean stopped. “What?”
“Ma-Ma say dat wittle Piggy has pi’za!” Julia explained.
Dean sighed. “Julia, I don’t want to you to take this wrong, but your Mother is one weird chick,” he said. “Where was I? Oh yeah - and this little Piggy had none…” another toe tweak, leading up to the big finish, “And THIS lil’ piggy,” he said, gently holding onto her dainty little toe, “went -“
“Wee, wee, wee all da way ‘ome!” Julia finished, clapping and chuckling.
Dean wiggled her last toe and lightly ran his fingers over the sole of her smooth little foot, making her laugh with delight.
Just the mention of pizza made Dean's stomach rumble, so when it came time for lunch, Dean gathered his precious charge up, and getting her settled into the Impala, they went to the family's favorite pizza place.
Dean caught admiring glances from several women in the restaurant as he and Julia walked in. Just because he was a married man didn't mean he couldn't look, or feel a burst to his ego when women liked what they saw. Still, Jamie was his life, so he just gave the various ladies a smile before he settled Julia into her high chair.
When the waitress came to take their order, she gave Dean a grin and said, "You have a beautiful daughter!" He didn't bother correcting her. He merely said thanks and tweaked Julia's nose when she informed the woman "He my DeDe."
When their food arrived, Dean cut Julia's slice into bite-sized pieces, and helped her blow on it to cool it down, as well as helped her to hold her child's cup of soda. Julia said around the straw as she sucked up her drink, "I wuv woot be'r."
Dean agreed with her as he demolished most of the rest of the medium pizza and sucked down his own root beer. It wasn't the kind of beer he preferred, but it'd do.
By the time they'd finished their meal, he could tell Julia was beginning to fade. "Time for a nap, little bit?"
Julia felt herself being gently lifted into the Impala, and give Uncle Dean a nod. She was a little sleepy, and the nice warm car only amplified the feeling. After Dean drove them back to his place, he gently picked her up and carried her into the house.
He sat down on the recliner, Julia snuggled into his lap, and the sweetest smile on her face. “What’re you thinking about, Birdie?” Dean questioned, kissing her forehead gently.
“Wobin,” Julia replied, and a happy giggle bubbled up from her lips. “Me gonna be Big Sis! Me be goo’ Big Sis, De-De?” She asked, opening her eyes and looking up at him.
He ran his hand through her hair and tipped her head up to look at him. “Julia, you are gonna be an awesome Big Sister. Robin couldn’t ask for better Big Sisters than you and Angel.” He beeped her nose and she cooed.
“Know what? she asked him, little hands playing with his amulet.
“What?” Dean asked, never knowing what to expect.
She looked up into his green eyes with those amazing blue-green orbs that reminded Dean so much of Sam. She placed her right hand on his cheek. “De-De gonna be awsum Da-Da for E’tan,” Julia said tenderly.
Dean may have lectured himself about not tearing up and being a girl, but this time, he couldn't help it. With those sweet words coming from a most precious soul, Dean's eyes grew wet. He pulled Julia up and held her close, her little head resting on his shoulder, and her arms around his neck. He let the tears fall and he whispered through the lump in his throat, "Oh, my sweet baby girl, thank you so much."
Julia could tell her De-De was crying, but it was a good cry, not a bad cry. She saw her Mommy and Daddy do that a lot, so she wasn't scared. She just cuddled closer and let her love and devotion for her wonderful uncle seep from her into him. She really was getting sleepy now. Secure and safe and loved, she closed her eyes and let herself fall asleep.
Dean knew the instant she slipped into slumber. He reached up and swiped his face dry, and turned his head to place a long kiss on her head. He gently put the recliner back, and his feet up and his arms full of sleeping child, he closed his eyes and joined her in the land of nod.

Jamie walked in an hour later. The house was quiet, but the Impala was out front so she knew Dean had to be home. When she stepped into the living room, she found Dean and Julia still in the chair, both sleeping. Dean's head was tipped to the side, his cheek resting against Julia's dark head, and he was snoring softly. She smiled, love for her husband and their niece filling her heart. She crossed the room to stand beside the chair, and reached out a hand to lightly caress both heads. She whispered, "Oh, my loves...I do adore you."
