Who: Temari and Shikamaru
What: They meet... again. And talk about physical contact.
Where: Campus corridors.
When: After class.
Warning(s):violence *rolls-eyes* nothing (:

Hands carrying a couple of heavy textbooks, Shikamaru frowned as he walked through the corridors, back to his room. Why is this place so crowded? Ugh. It'd been a long day and he yearned to throw the books somewhere in his room and fall back onto the soft blankets, nuzzle a pillow... and sleep. Dinner could wait.

Well, well, well.

Temari couldn't help but smirk at the man walking towards her in the hallway. She most certainly didn't expect this surprise right after her most boring class of the day, French. The smirk grew wider into a grin as she realized that the guy didn't notice her yet. What was the guy's name again? Right...

"Hey! Lazy-ass!"

Shikamaru blinked, unglazed his eyes, and looked blankly at the girl in front of him. Oh, her. Great, just what he needed. An obstacle to his room.

"Hello," he greeted her blandly.

Well, at least he was responding well. Walking up to him with her hands in her pockets, bag slung on her shoulders, Temari looked at him. Rather, she looked up at him, herself not expecting him to be taller than her, since they only met once. That warranted a slight frown, but she kept continue to walk towards him.

"You actually go to classes around here?"

Obstacle incoming. Noting her presence, he shifted his books a little lower, and scowled in return, "Yeah, air gets stale in my room if I stay in there for too long." Clearing his throat, he added, "So, what do you want?"

She shrugged, herself not really knowing what she actually wanted out of the guy. Just to shrug off the pile of stress that was given to her in French maybe. "Nothing. Just saying, hi." Very charismatic, this one.

"Oh, right. To someone who left a lousy first impression," he snorted in reply, and continued walking, right pass her. Girls are weird. Especially this one. He had no energy to deal with her.

"Well, it's what happens when the first person you me--Hey!" Temari scowled at him, or rather, his back as he walked by. Her first reaction was to reach for something to grab onto to stop him. In this case, one of his long strands of hair.

"OW! ow ow ow..." Shikamaru groaned in pain as he stumbled backwards, dropping his books on the floor. "What the hell are you doing to my hair!" he growled, irritated, and rubbed his scalp with one hand.

She grinned, amused at his reaction, though she had done it without thinking. "I'm stopping you. It's rude to walk away from people that are still talking to you, you know?"

"Yeah, I know. So? No point in being polite to you." He stooped down and picked up his textbooks. Scowling, he added, "Wipe that stupid grin off your face. A normal girl would apologise and get my books for me."

His remark only fueled her on to grin wider. "I'm not a normal girl then. Thought you knew that one by now." But out of curiousity Temari bent down and picked up one of the books on the floor. Just one.

"Yeah, thought so..." he muttered, straightening his textbooks. Shikamaru felt a slight breeze pass him and looked to the side, only to see Temari holding one of his books. Hmm, she bothered?

"Hand that over."

"Ne..what's this?" Temari turned around, her back facing him and brought the book high above her head and flipped through it.

His hand reaching over her to grab the book, he muttered, "I don't know, I can't see it. Why not you tell me?"

Seeing his hand above her, Temari brought the book down again, teasingly, flipping further into the textbook. She frowned at the formulas and the computations. "Math?"

One hand putting down the other books in a stack and the other following the path of the book, he raised an eyebrow at her. "What about math?" Gah, she moves too much.

"That's what this book is about. Really, don't tell me you lug these things around for nothing." Swiveling around him, Temari walked towards the direction she was originally going, continuing to look at the textbook. "Sigma, limits...I don't get this."

Hastily picking up the other books again, damn I need a bag, he rushed after her, scowling, "Then tell me, why are you looking at the book anyway? Just give it back."

"It's amazing on how much you can learn in mere minutes." She continued to go down the hall, and eventually down the stairs with the book. Wow, she learned all of this stuff in highschool. "Heh, this is nostalgic."

"Nostalgic? What the hell's wrong with you? It's just math." Shikamaru grumbled as he chased after her, almost missing the stairs and falling over. As they got back onto flat ground, he rushed ahead and walked backwards, facing Temari. "Just hand it over, math's boring."

She scowled at him, as if he had just disturbed her in some serious reading. Of course, it was all an act, just to see how far he'll go for a textbook. Unfortunately, not much. "The hell's wrong with you? If you think it's boring why are you taking it? You're wasting money like that." Temari snapped the book close, but didn't give it back.

"I think everything's boring. Haven't you realised?" Rolling his eyes, but slightly amused, his free hand lunged forward to snatch the closed book back.

"True. But at least you could take easier classes." Trusting her instincts, Temari brought the book upwards again, in case he reached for it. Which he did.

"Math isn't difficult." Raising his hand to try and snatch the book, he stopped midway- and instead, rapped her head with a knuckle. "Is this thing empty? I said I wanted my book back, please."

She scowled and looked like she was about to bite him. "Well, since you said please." Instead, she slammed the book downwards onto his unprotected head. Hard, but not enough to cause some sort of concussion.

"Ow! Watch it!" He snatched the book (finally!) from her grasp and rubbed his head sorely. Frowning, he growled, "For a girl, you hit quite hard."

"And for a guy, you hit quite like a girl," she snapped back, looking up at him. Damn he was tall. "I hope that leaves a bruise."

"It will, damn you." He scowled at her, adding, "Guys shouldn't hit girls. I don't recall hitting you."

"It went something like this." Temari copied his earlier movement and rapped his head with her knuckle. But she wasn't cruel enough to hit it in the same place where she hit him with the textbook. After all, she didn't want him to cry.

"Stupid, that wasn't hitting. It was knocking."

"I don't see a difference. It's physical contact." Temari shrugged and readjusted her bag.

Shifting the weight of his books to the other hand, he raised an eyebrow and commented, "There's a difference, moron. Or else hitting could be hugging. Both include physical contact."

Tch, if he wanted to start a name calling contest, he's got one. "Fine, you idiot. I'll be more specific. Physical contact with force. Want me to demonstrate again?"

"No, don't you dare hit me again."

Temari grinned, putting up her hands in a surrendering posture. "Dare? I'll do it just because you said that, you know?"

"Look, I don't want to hit you." Shikamaru groaned. I could...but.

She rolled her eyes. "Hypocrite. You just said guys don't hit girls." But if he really was going to, she could take it. It was a positive side effect from having two psychotic brothers while growing up.

"Exactly. I don't hit girls. But you make me feel like smacking you."

Feel? She must've struck some kind of chord to make this usually stoic and lazy guy to feel somewhat violent. "Go ahead. I dare you." She looked back at him defiantely, her hands already curled in fists.

Noticing the fists, Shikamaru chortled, "I'm not really going to fight you, silly. But if you want-" he reached over and pinched her cheek. "There, forceful physical contact."

And while he was doing that, one of Temari's fist almost made it halfway to his head. Only to stop in midair out of pure surprise. "I'm disgusted, Nara." She swat his hand away. "You could've at least made a mark or something."

"On your pretty face? No, not wise." He turned around and began walking back to his room. "Go find someone else to fight with."

Temari visibly winced at the word "pretty" and stared at his back for a few seconds before snapping out of it. "Oi! Nara, get your ass back here!" For some reason what he said really riled her up. His statement sounding like she wasn't good enough or something.

He turned around again, yawning, "....hmm, why should I? I'm going back to sleep." This girl's really hot-blooded, what the hell does she do normally?

Payback. Running to his position in front of her, she raised a fist making it look like she was going to hit his head.

Shikamaru blinked and bent backwards. "Do you really like fighting so much?" With one hand, he grabbed her arm and pushed it down.

She couldn't believe he fell for it. And with her other arm, Temari slung it over his shoulder and pulled him forward into a semi-hug. "No. Just physical contact." She replied with a grin.

Shikamaru was slightly startled at her actions but he didn't show it. He just stared at her and muttered, "Right."

Letting go of him and shaking her other arm loose, Temari gave him a triumphant smirk, walking backwards to go the other way. "Sweet dreams," she laughed before turning around and continuing her way.

Almost flushing, he silently watched her figure retreat, then turned around and headed back to his own room. That girl was such a handful.
