Character Age: [A general guideline is putting the characters 6-7 years older than their canon starting age. So Naruto was 12, now he's 18-19. Older characters, try not to make younger than their starting canon age, but flexibility is always possible.]
Character Status/Affiliation: [Is your character in school? Out of school? Graduated? Earning their masters? Starting their own business? Bumming it out on the beach? Are they engaged to an unknown, shady stranger? Maybe they're convicts, or out of the mental institution...go wild!]
Character's Model: [In the tradition of hs_no_jutsu, shodai_academy, narukorp, and sadoisland, we ask that you think about what real life person you want to use as a model for your character. What do we mean? Icons, my friends!]
How are you going to choose to adapt their "powers" to reality? (You can choose to ignore them): [Think, Taijutsu is essentially going toward martial arts, Fuuinjutsu can correlate to various psychological repressings or directings, Genjutsu deals with illusions (think holographs, magicians, hallucinagins), Ninjutsu can turn into specific talents (hidden ones, perhaps), Doujutsu could be like something related to eye-transplants (who knows), Kinjutsu are forbidden anyway, so think black-market, unknown, strange things.]
Summary of Character's Past: [Is it feasible to have had Itachi kill off the entire family in the same way he did canonically? Yes, but then he would be in a mental institution or jail. Try reworking extreme details into a modern context, or make the consequences tangible to "reality". Doesn't have to be detailed, try to touch on one or two important events and how they have changed or stayed the same. For example, Tsunade went to medical school, and say, joined the Peace Corps. Dan was killed in a bloody attack in an unrestful country in Africa. She couldn't save him, quit medicine, had a hazy period in her life before being brought back in as Dean of Students at Beachside University. It's your character - have fun with their lives!]
