i figure something this cool is also worth sharing:
i went to the rainbow gathering in colorado. just came back from it actually. 2 weeks in the middle of the national forest (literally) with about 20,000 other people. all amazing, loving, caring, giving and TALENTED people. you have no idea!
imagine a city in the middle of the woods. money is not welcome there unless it is to donate to the 'family' which is everyone. and that money goes to the food that feeds us. different kitchens are made in the middle of the woods. countertops made of different logs tided together. and a big pit is dug to have a fire and huge pots to cook on.
but the best fire pit is the BLISS PIT
that is the biggest fire pit. one that's big enough to burn three entire tree trunks at the same time. (literally!) now imagine 10 amazing drummers playing the djembe drum. all different sizes and sounds. around this fire pit that's the size of THREE WHOLE tree trunks. now imagine a trumpet player, flute player, sax player, singers, a fiddle, guitar players and some other people playing the didgeridoo. all these sounds working together without any kind of preparationat all. just pure creation moving together on the spot! improv! all around that sammme huuuuge fire pit. now imagine another 40 people dancing around this fire pit with all this music. half naked girls and guys just getting down and having an awesome party in the middle of the woods from the beginning of sundown all the way till the sun is almost well over head again.
