An Oklahoma ramble

I need to ramble on for a few minutes. Won't hurt, I promise.
Yesterday was the last episode of the superlative TV show, Saving Grace. I don't know if you all (hear that? That's my Okie sneaking in) have seen it. It is terrific. It was one of those summer fill in shows that TNT throws up to tide us over until the Fall season. Well, it was too good for regular TV. TNT does have some super programs, The Closer is fine, too, but Saving Grace just hits a cord with me. I don't know if it is because they get the Oklahoma thing to a T, or whether it's that Holly Hunter is just knock out perfect as a wild, sad and yet lovable woman "of a certain age"? No matter, it is riveting TV, and I recommend you catch it when it goes into reruns.. It will start up again next summer for it's second season. Oklahoma can come across as a cliche, often, on TV or in films. This series captures many of the "types" that live there, but it also touches on the Murrah Building bombing, the differing loyalties in the state and the constant rivalry with our neighbor to the south; all the while, dealing with crime and faith. I can't say I miss living in Okla....but I sure recognize the folks on this show and loved them. BS, out!

holly hunter is just knock out perfect
