I have always wanted to stay at one of the disney hotels just to have the experience. I'm in dire need of some TLC and so I'm looking into a one or two night stay. So I head over to disneyland.com and start looking at the hotels because even though I knew they were expensive, I had no clue just how expensive. I could get plenty of information about the hotels at the website but in order to get prices for a passholder I had to call. There is the Grand Californian which for a park view, even with a passholder discount would be over 300 dollars a night. It's an awesome hotel and beautiful but kind of fancy. Then there is Paradise Pier Hotel which is not as fancy and probably would suit me better. It would cost me about 200 for a view room. I found all this out while speaking to a not so friendly person on the phone at disney services or whatever. Once they realized I didn't have an exact date I would be staying etc etc they were less than friendly. Anyway so now I'm trying to decide which would be better. My heart tells me I would be more comfortable and happy in a less fancy hotel but everyone tells me I just HAVE to stay at the Grand Californian at least once in a lifetime. I'm probably getting ahead of myself anyway, and with the day to day way I have to live anything can happen and it may become a moot point. I am going to go ahead and plan on it though and try to work all the details out which is confusing to say the least. I need cooperation from someone else who has to work details out and then I also need to plan for care for my father. My nephew said he would stay here but I'm kind of thinking I may just hire a caregiver for at least the overnight part. I think that's just too much to ask of my nephew with a family and a new baby.

Anyway now that I have rambled on to myself, probably making very little sense to anyone else... anyone want to add their opinion on which hotel?
