I really like that his capitulation is phrased by his calling her a school teacher, because she's only been a schoolteacher to him twice before -- when he didn't acknowledge her presidency (and so their joint responsibility would be no bar to a physical relationship) and on New Caprica, when she wasn't president. In a way, it's Bill's synonym for frak the responsibilities, isn't it?

Great job! I love her realisation that her cabin layout was like Bill's quarters. And of course her throwing caution to the wind...frak responsibility! Thank the gods they did.

I absolutely adore the idea of Laura being at home in the Admiral's quarters. So cute!!

It is a lovely notion of Laura envisaging the interior of her cabin by the lake as Bill's quarters and a very apt one because I think it was what the cabin represented rather than the physical cabin itself that was important to Laura. It was the chance to retire, for her and Bill to relinquish their responsibilities at journey's end, to live in peace and security together, just Bill and Laura laughing and loving and reading.

I agree with frakcancer about Bill's use of 'schoolteacher', his moment of acceptance that they take a break from responsibility. Can't believe they could settle for 'just this once' though!

It was definitely the idea of the cabin and it just being the two of them together that appealed to them more than the actual cabin itself. They probably found those kind of alone moments in Bill's quarters glorious which is why I figured the cabin would resemble his home on Galactica.
