I can imagine the War Heros becoming that close after the desaster of New Caprica. The story is hot yet painfull for both of them because non of them can find love.
Caprica and Boomer's passion for peace between human and cylon must have been a very seductive ideal for the two of them. They were really the only two who believed in it and it had to bring them closer together.
I like how this explains in subtlety the way Boomer seems to be giving up on the idea and the way Caprica is ashamed at herself that she can't make the idea of peace as achievable as it seemed when they first decided to believe in it. On another level Caprica, to me, seems ashamed that she can't make herself more appealing to Boomer, like she banks her entire identity on being effortlessly alluring and yet she can feel Boomer's dwindling interest in her.
I really wanted a fic that showed something about Boomer and Caprica in the lost year and how they came to be so disenchanted or halfhearted about peace with humans. Thanks for this.
