This is great! Totally not one I ever expected to get remixed either, it was such a small thing when I wrote it. It was such an awesome surprise to see, especially because it was all about Sweet Eight, who I don't write about much, but whose motives intrigues me more and more as the years after the webisodes pass. I love this glimpse into how she got started on her cruel gaslighting game with him. I love that she sees these things going on that don't add up just like everyone else, but that she's the only one paying enough attention to connect the dots. What I especially enjoy about it is how you show that all the other Cylons are too distracted by their own biases, problems and agendas to notice two plus two adding to four. And I like the implication here that Sweet Eight notices that things don't make sense because she is a blank slate, just taking in information without personal history to distract or motivate her, although her one bias - that the humans stink - was a fascinating one. I like the metaphorical quality of it here - ( ... )

I liked this a lot! I went back to look at the original, which I didn't remember, but I did see in my review I had written for it ages ago that I had commented on the Eight and how she would fit in! So I'm very much on board with this scenario. ;)

I like how visual and to the point this story is. It works particularly well in a story about a picture - about a caricature no less.

Now I have to go and discuss with millari who you probably are. ;)

I liked this look at New Caprica here. Sweet!Eight is kind of a cypher in the show and I like how you've fleshed out her complete distain, not only for Geata and humans, but also human emotions like love.

BOOMER CONCEALING HIS DRAWINGS AND TRYING TO PROTECT HIM. *melts a little* Ahem.

Gaeta was a mess of a human- a knotty ball of anger and mistrust, although probably harmless.
I really like this line. And love this fic a lot! Gaeta filtered through the eyes of Sweet Eight's suspicion and interest, it's a really interesting POV you captured well here. The balance of her contempt for humans as a whole and Boomer & Caprica's more sympathetic if misguided hopes of living together. (*Not shockingly* I love the bits with Caprica here, poor thing is so matter-of-fact about Gaeta and Baltar's relationship and disappointed they can't turn him back around.)

Very plotty and I love that Eight has such insight, but not that much confidence in them. It was also good to see that Cylons get overwhelmed and distracted by the day-to-day minutia that humans do :-)
