I love this! It's like an improvisation over the original story. There are a lot of interesting thoughts and notions in this. I wish canon had been that intriguing when it came to Cylon culture. Plus, I'm a sucker for early Athena.

This is a nice riff of the original. I particularly like the notion of Eight becoming the lie she lived and that being the unexpected truth that starts all the Cylon blocks tumbling down.

There are some lovely insights here into the Eight's mind - just the fact that she'd identify herself that way regardless of having some of Boomer's memories is an interesting thing to think about.

Don’t fall, Eight commanded herself.
This is a very interesting take on the Cylons! The idea of love being connected to fear of death, something they're beyond, is striking. She knows so much yet so little about humans as a whole.
