It is nice to see the two of them back in the beginning, when they were so (relatively) unscarred. Good story! (BTW, there are a few instances of commas in the wrong place that you might want to fix.)

I really enjoyed this--Col. Tigh getting to do something where he does have the background information to help. And Chief's resentment in spite of knowing that they couldn't have done otherwise goes well with what we saw on the show.

I don't think I've read Saul as a deckhand before. It's an interesting spin, I like it. I like seeing this affecting him in a way we didn't in the mini. Last line was especially great- totally how I can see Saul reacting.

Not drinking was what he didn't say and Saul silently thanked him for that.

"Feels good," he said.
Aw, that exchange. It's nice to see something actually positive and hopeful come out of this.
