There is so much I love about this fic that it's hard to keep track- Sam! the way you talked about the Six on New Caprica! the way you talk about his love for Kara! using the phrase 'a promise to return'! the fact that they had been married longer than they hadn't been while knowing one another! EVERYTHING EVERYTHING EVER!- so I'm sorry for the flaily and not very intelligent comment, but oh Sam.

Sorry? :) I seem to only write Kara/Sam when it's angsty, which is weird because I enjoy my angst-free, shot-taking Kara/Sam in canon so much. Glad you liked it, though!

Ooh, this is great. It's an excellent Sam character study. I love how you took the original and wove in the flashbacks to New Caprica and Sam and the other three Cylons. I particularly like the bit about Kara and Sam's tattoos, and all their friends on New Caprica.

I was pretty good this year about not peeking at the remix stories as they showed up in my inbox... and then I caved and read yours and almost made myself late to work.

It's just lovely, and has that right mixture of want and sadness and glimpses of human and how mundane this kind of job can be.

"I'm out," Sam says quietly. "I'm out of this. I can't, I'm tired."

Chief pops his head up again, a familiar amusement and empathy on his face for just a moment. "You're out of... being a Cylon?"

"That's ridiculous," Tigh grumbles.

"No, I think it's awesome," Chief says with a mini-salute. "Go ahead, buddy."

Fantastic exchange there. Also, the zombie and the cylon made me laugh and wince.

YAY, thank you!! :D I'm glad you're happy with it, and thanks for letting me remix in your sandbox. This fic of yours really jumped out at me; I liked this mundane optimistic slice of them around season four (though I did my darnedest to make it more angsty) and the ideas it raised about their connection to the Tyrols and their honeymoon phase vs. ambiguity of where they are now.
