Wow, if that isn't the best line ever, it's on the short list. I wish I'd written it.
Something like this scene should have been in the show anyway, especially before season 4, when the internal logic was falling apart (and taking the writing with it.)
It's great to see the story from the eyes of other characters, because there's something fascinating and sobering in seeing just how little the civilians, even in the Quorum, actually see. Zarek, of course, is more on the inside than the woman whose viewpoint we share here, but even he is left out of a lot of this, and it's much easier to see his point about Adama and Roslin and their leadership style after reading this.
We are missing the ocean indeed. I shall link to this from Hubris after all is revealed. Thank you.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading all your material -- I pretty much only read and write Roslin/Adama, so it was refreshing to read your big ensemble pieces. And it was a wonderful challenge to be able to remix one of them.
