“What about him? Is he hurt?”

“No but Baltar is, thanks to him. Felix stabbed him with a pen.”Heh. Nice bit of understated humor here ( ... )

This was a really interesting juxtaposition of characters. Athena and Gaeta have a lot more in common season 3 than I normally see written. They're both very isolated and while on different arcs, the themes of guilt and reconciliation permeate their stories. I like that in the end Athena backed away and let him make his own decisions.

I love what you did with this! Athena is such a fascinating character, and she has an edge to her that I have a very hard time capturing but that you work with really well here. I love how you play all sides of the idea of all the Eights being different, how with Felix that's a positive trait when it comes to his relationship with Athena but a negative one when it comes to Sweet!Eight. My favorite part, though, was how you played that "we're not all the same" tension within Athena, because although her choices make her much different from her sisters, you show how personality-wise, there are definitely some similarities between her and Sweet!Eight. I also really liked Helo in this; it's fun to see his and Athena's relationship in a casual, private moment.

Thanks so much, remixer, for writing such an intriguing story! I'm honored.

Oh, Felix.

This is a very interesting look into Athena's mind. Unflinching, unwavering. I would say lacking in compassion as well, but that's not actually true. Well done in treading that line.

Oooh, I love the set-up of the original fic and how you expanded it to what happens next! I second what others said about your portrayal of Athena, it rang very true. And the last few lines made a really nice link between these characters I wouldn't have thought about before.
