I like the original story's bits woven into the new fic. You've done a good job of showing Dee becoming more and more despondent, responding only to pain and eschewing tenderness. This is a clever re-mix, reversing the roles and showing us the path to Dee's suicide. It makes perfect sense. Nice work.
