nice! you've got some beautiful imagery going there. your descriptions of the sky and stars and flying all make me want to get up into the sky right now, while the bleakness of the rest anchors me back down to Earth.
one thing though, could you take your story info out of the cut-tag, so that it's just the story underneath it? thanks.
Thank you very much for your feedback. I'm glad you felt the imagery was effective. I wanted it to be kind of dreamlike without going OTT. I've written it from Kara's POV and the situation in my mind when I was writing it was that she and Helo had been the victims of a cylon ambush on Caprica after the events in KLG (Helo is the one holding her hand).
The prose itself is very haunting. And, the part where a dying Kara (my interpretation of the POV) is imagining that she can reach the stars is just so bittersweet.
Anyway, I love how you compare the starry sky to a Delgado painting. Didier Delgado is my mom's favorite artist.
Favorite Line: A cry escaped her, strong and loud, a final warrior’s yell and then she was airborne, beyond the atmosphere, through the crimson clouds, amid the stars again.
Thank you so much for commenting and yes, your interpretation of the POV was the one I was writing from.
Believe it or not I wasn't aware that there was an artist called Delgado. I just chose a name at random for an artist in the BSG universe. Now I've googled him and his paintings are beautiful and strangely appropriate (perhaps I've seen them in the past and subconsciously remembered him.)
So I think I'll keep the name even though technically he wouldn't exist in Kara's world :)

But really it could be interpreted in any way.
Thanks again for taking the time to comment.
