Im currently in the UK with
hollysamantha and we are just wrapping up a lovely relaxing weekend. Its been so nice to just rest and feel a little more at home. We went to Windsor Castle and town yesterday which was really lovely. The castle is really pretty and the grounds including a walled garden are fabulous. Its a pity that you can't see much of the Castle as it is still a residence of the Queen but they do have this amazing doll's house which belonged to Queen Mary with running water and electricity.
The week tour of Wales was realy great - it was so nice to catch up with Holly and the group as a whole were really good. We spent the first night in Cardiff (Caerdydd) and Holly and I went down to Cardiff Bay and spent the evening there. We saw iconic landmarks that also held special importance for us as Doctor Who/Torchwood locations. Then we went to a Pub to debate our plans for the evening but a sudden downpour decided for us that chatting and eating at the Pub was the best bet. Tuesday we went to Castell-y-Bere, the ruins of a welsh castle and to one of my favourtoe places Hay-on-Wye. I couldnt find the fantasy themed bookshop but bought a good read for only a couple of pounds anyway. We also went to Bala lake which is Wales' longest lake and stayed in converted farm buildings for the night. A BBQ tea with lots of salads was really nice. the cold weather all week, until friday was a little tiresome, especially for those slightly unprepared i.e. me!
