...creating memories

May 10, 2009 16:14

I was just talking to a friend and they asked me about Canada and what had done to make it 'amazing'. I realized then that it's all the little things everyday kind of moments that are making this experince once in a lifetime. It's watching snow fall outside my bedroom window, and a squirrel dash across the telephone lines. Walking up Mont Royal and drinking hot chocolate while seeing the city lights. This is going to read a little like a list but it's part of remember just how much this, this experince, oppourtunity, means to me!!

The road trip to Quebec City with the ice hotel, lunch at 'chez victor' my déjà vu, and clambering through snow. Playing in several feet of snow that first week. The late start on wednesdays where I catch the bus to school. Catching the metro downtown and being in the centre of a big city. Going to a co-ed, public school - leaving school for lunch, or just hanging out in the cafeteria after school.

Chatting with my teachers about school and life and travel and clubbing. Missing home - absence really does make the heart grow fonder! Walking to the dep, maxi or the movies :) it's all of these little things, and making friends with Sinead just coz we're both Aussie and sharing a locker. Learning more about myself and people - a new way of seeing the world.

A rather abstract reflection on some of thethings I want to remember about Canada and Montreal.
