Challenge #10 Response

Nov 05, 2005 18:12

Here's to being prompt! For once, anyways. My response to the laying down/standing challenge.

Title: Long Day
Author: Kate
Rating: PG (reference to substance abuse)
Spoilers: S2, "Final Cut"
Disclaimer: Not mine.
(A/N: An additional challenge for myself, this time. I tried one using almost all dialogue, since I barely use any as a stylistic habit. Just making sure it's not because I can't do dialogue. Consider this a sort of 'printer test'.)

Lee was sprawled, maiden-like, across his rack. He groaned and hid his eyes from the ray of light Starbuck had let through the door.

“That hard a shift, Apollo? I thought you had a quiet CAP,” Kara said. Lee lifted his head.

“Kara. I went out with Kat. You know, our psycho pill-popping pilot, first time back in a plane? She was nuts.”

“Oh.”

“Yeah. Oh. And you know what else? That was supposed to be your shift, taking Kat out. But Cottle cleared her early…”

“Mm hmm,” Kara hummed. “See? Cottle’s fault.”

“You signed her out.”

“Did I? Oops.”
~~

In conclusion, I'm sticking with my uncluttered, no-talking-added style.
