So, the other day I asked Frank if he could do up a charitable vgift with the proceeds going to the flood victims in Queensland. And apparently I wasn't the only one. (Or else I have super influence. *snort*)
Australian flood relief

So, make sure you go to your vshop and buy one if you can afford to send one. It's a painless way of donating.
There was huge Aussie pride around this week. The floods have subsided and you would not believe how fantastic everyone is working together in the cities effected. Over 50,000 people volunteered in Brisbane on what is now known as 'Sunday, muddy Sunday'. The huge piles of rubbish that were collected from street after street were depressing, but at least people were helping clean up and sort things out. The costs will be in the billions though, and of course, some people weren't covered by flood insurance. Especially as a lot of spots that flooded weren't in what was considered a flood zone. And, don't forget, several insurance companies are being assholes and saying that it wasn't a flood, it was a river rising. I'm yet to understand the difference.
In other news, school resumes on Monday. YAY!!!! FREEDOM!!!!! Both my babies are now off my hands with little Nicky starting prep this year. I plan on going shopping, especially grocery shopping, all BY MYSELF. For the first time in 7 years. ALL BY MYSELF! YAY! I can get around every aisle without getting nagged for whatever crap they want that week. I can go out for a coffee afterwards and sit quietly and maybe read the paper or whatever. *happy sigh*
Of course, the bad news is they go for 2 days and then Wednesday is a public holiday for Australia Day. So, I just get rid of them and I get them back. *snort*
Anyway, don't forget that as Wednesday coming is Australia Day, that will be the perfect day to send a little Aussie vgift.
