My first foray into this virtual realm...I hope it's not too painfully obvious!
She stands at her locker door, soulful eyes reflected in the mirror above the creased photograph.
On the left, a happier incarnation of herself in Zak’s arms. Arms that will never hold her again; the laughter and love they shared now bittersweet memories stifled by the fear and desperation permeating the rag-tag fleet of humanity she is charged with defending.
Mouth softening, she brushes her fingertips across the figure she’s kept hidden from view.
On the right, Lee standing alone. Arms that can only hold her in her dreams. Lips that are too accustomed to restraint. Love they cannot realize.
