Disappointment #1
Gained 1.8 pounds at the official weigh in yesterday. I think most of that is just random fluctuation. I stayed on plan well all week but Friday was a little bit of a binge day - still on plan but spending a lot of my weekly points the day before my weigh in was probably not the best idea ever. Then yesterday I was at my Mother in-law's house and did some actual binging. Well maybe "binging" is too harsh but had too much of things that are not helpful to the weight loss

Disappointment #2
Prince Caspian finally made it to the top of my Netflix list. It's been a while since I last read any of the Narnia books but that was not at all like the one I remember. Kind of like the new Star Trek movie in that respect. Same names different type of story. Of course, last time I said a movie wasn't at all like the book i remember (V for Vendetta) it turned out my memory was the problem. But I have read Prince Caspian quite a few more times than I've read V for Vendetta.

This is going to sound weird for me to say but I miss the thinly veiled Xtianity. I did in fact miss it entirely for a very long time as a kid, miss it in the sense that I didn't get it. As a kid and sci-fi/fantasy geek in a non-religious house I didn't see any difference between Aslan and a host of other mysterious and powerful benefactors in a host of other books. Even when it was pointed out to me I didn't believe it for a long time. Whether one likes or believes in that religion the soul (pun intended) of the Narnia books is that relationship to Aslan and the characters attempts to live up to that. Not the relationship to each other or some producers idea that we need a romance between Susan and Caspian or more monster fights.

I sincerely hope they do NOT make a Voyage of the Dawn Treader movie.

I'm not even going to talk about the whole Reepicheep debacle.

Apparently someone fucking with my childhood memories is worse than me fucking with my present/future reality. I'm sure that says something profound about me - but I'm not sure what.
