At least Jenny doesn’t make up bullshit stories and barge into her neighbor’s house and accuse her of being a witch.

You don't want to know the bullshit story one of the neighbor kids here is making up about my child.

Claudia asks Mallory to be her partner because apparently the Pikes spend a lot of time on the water and love boating. Since when?

That might be a reference to the poor Pike family's yearly vacation to Sea City.

Was it legal for an eleven year old, an eight-year old, and a baby to be left alone for the weekend in 1990?

Absolutely not. When I read this book, I asked my parents why I couldn't stay home for the weekend, and they told me it wasn't legal because I wasn't old enough. I asked one of my teachers who said the same thing.

Even NOW, kids are supposed to be 16 to "be left unsupervised (in some cases, for up to two consecutive overnight periods)". So an 11-year-old for three days...nope.

I think in the ninth book Sharon was dating someone other than Richard

Chip?

Can’t you get caught in a riptide

$10 says those girls can't tell you where the riptides are. (I can.)

Does Logan not know their number?

Phone books still existed then. They must have an unlisted number. Either that, or him asking Dawn is just a plot device.

You know what else would be reasonable? Waiting to hear their response. Mary Anne just accuses Logan of standing her up.

If my SO doesn't have a history of standing me up, I'd be worried before being angry.

Knowing Mary Anne she was probably imagining Logan was cheating on her.

I need to get back to work on the Winter Vacation snark where she imagines him cheating with a bunch of girls all over Aruba.

It sounds like Logan is mad that Mary Anne thinks he’d stand her up. Has he ever done that before?

At this point in the series, he's only been a stellar boyfriend.

Dawn should have given Mary Anne the message, but it was an honest mistake.

Was it, though? She could have immediately called Mary Anne when the phone was in her hand, but instead did other stuff.

Mary Anne was the asshole who just immediately thought her boyfriend would stand her up and called to accuse him of that without even considering that something could have happened. As far as I’m concerned, the fight between Mary Anne and Logan is on Mary Anne. Dawn should have given the message, but Mary Anne could have called and asked what happened instead of immediately yelling at Logan.
Mary Anne wishes Dawn would get out of her life for good. That’s a little bit dramatic. There are plenty of times Mary Anne could have wished this.

Quoting that entire bit because I agree 100%. This is one of those rare times where both parties ended up being wrong. Dawn did start it by not calling Mary Anne, but Mary Anne is wrong because she's the one who started the fight with Logan. I'm on Logan's side.

Claudia packs a bunch of candy bars, some coke

With it lower case, I thought you meant a different kind of coke. Oops!!

Can granola bars be unhealthy?

You know how Quaker granola bars are only about 3.5" long and 1/2" thick and 3/4" wide? Tiny thing. There are 100 calories in that little thing. Granola bars used to be a lot larger back in the 90's. They've shrunk to try to make it look like there are fewer calories. They can now say their granola bars are "now only 100 calories" when the reality is it's just that they've shrunk.

What about yogurt?

Dannon has 140 calories in a 5oz cup. A lot of it is added sugar. Doesn't meant it's unhealthy, but you can't eat nothing but yogurt and granola bars and call it health food.

Also, what does salad without mayo mean?

Is mayo considered a dressing in Ann's world?
