Kristy's Worst Idea- part 4 and last!

Here's the last part! Thanks for the continued support and hope you enjoy!

Chapter 13 (not that snark worthy sorry)
Stacey comes to Kristy's to tell her Jackie is in the hospital after falling off his bike and injuring his head. He wasn't wearing his helmet so I guess his parents are pretty damn irresponsible too.
All the BSC members come to visit because I am sure a little child with a head injury wants a huge crowd of people loudly surrounding him, which is exactly what they are doing.
Jackie explains he has a concussion and had been riding his bike to Kristy's to give her an apology note for falling out of the tree and signs the note "wacky Jackie" which is freaking adorable.
Jackie was blaming himself for the BSC breakup and even says "I know im like this big Klutz and all." I blame the BSC entirely for putting this idea in his head by calling him "walking disaster." I know they say it discretely and all but based on their attitude around him he probably knows exactly how they feel about him.
Everyone cries and realizes this is the first time they've all been in the same room since the breakup. Sorry that was such a boring chapter.
Chapter 14
Pike babysitting chapter so it looks like this is going to another boring chapter. It's Kristy's first job in a while since she's been skeptical because of Jackie and she says she had missed the Pikes for some reason.
Mallory closes the door on Claire's finger by accident. Poor Mallory is devastated and feels guilty. Kristy assured her she did nothing wrong and it was just an accident, which is I must say a major turn around from Hello Mallory when poor Mallory was abused to the core because of Nicky getting injured.
This experience leads Kristy to realize she didn't do anything wrong either but I think the real lesson here is that she was wrong many books ago and she should realize she is way too strict and rigid and needs to lighten up if she wants to start the club again.
She realizes how much she misses the cult and admits it's her fault-- am I reading this right? But no, she says she wasn't thinking straight because she was upset about Jackie.
KRISTY-- this is your personality. You acted like this before you were upset about Jackie. And she says because she wasn't thinking straight she disbanded the club, and yes, she made the ultimate call, but the BSC was having problems because she was creating them by refusing to be flexible about meetings and make compromises making everyone give up their personal events so that the cult can be their whole life.
Now we get the real reason for the title of the book- Kristy says her worst idea ever wasn't creating the BSC, but letting it go. Kristy,
your worst idea is the way you run the club as if you're a dictator and the whole thing is a cult. She doesn't think the freedom is worth it because the cult hardly sees each other anymore. Honestly, that's on them. But it goes to show their friendship really does revolve around children and babysitting and the cult if they can't find activities to do together without these factors.
Kristy decides she wants to try the club again but this time "the right way." And if you think this is her time to say that the cult will run more efficiently if she would shut the hell
up about lateness and absences and exert more flexibility, you don't know our Kristy. She says it would work out better with more listening (okay she is right about that) and more talking which they were already doing but Kristy complained about everything they had to say.
She does say they need to more than just successful, also happy. Let's see if she calms down more im the later books. I can't even really remember what the later books are.
She calls Mary Anne, which is supposed to parallel the first book when she calls Mary Anne to tell her the idea when she first has it.

Chapter 15
Everyone agreed to gather into claudias room for what I guess is a formal meeting since it is 5:30 and Kristy does her "order!" bullshit.
Lmao Kristy doesn't want to sound stupid so she says the following speech:
"I have called this meeting to discuss the progress of the absence of the Babysitters Club and its effect on the future of the members in general and the greater babysitting community at large including clients past and possibly future, pending the outcome of this meeting."
Because that doesn't sound stupid AT ALL.
Luckily, no one is all happy and agreeable right away. Logan makes a wonderful jab at her previous comment of wanting to be just "Kristy's sitting service," claudia says "uh oh," and Stacey says they still babysit.
Of course Jessi and Mal are the only ones to agree right away and of course because the world bends to Kristy's will it just so happens that the Friday ballet class isn't happening. And Mallory's writing class is almost finished (and shockingly Kristy says they can be flexible about it).
Stacey and claudia are being realistic and not sure they want to drop back in right away because the same problems may arise and even makes a dig at Kristy by saying another ballet class or writing group or anything can happen again on a meeting day.
I was really hoping Kristy would say "then that person can be excempt from the meetings" but she just says "what if neither of these things happen?" Because God forbid Kristy have to be flexible. She even says if "times conflict we'll mention our BSC commitment to the head of the group. They can be flexible, too."
Okay, hold up. It doesn't work that way, Kristy. A professional organization like a library running a creative writing group or a ballet school is not going to change the times of one of its events because one person needs to have a club meeting with her friends. Please be realistic if you want to start the club up again, Kristy. Looks like she's learned nothing from this experience except that she has no life without the cult and that accidents happen during babysitting.
Stacey keeps being skeptical. This is realistic from Stacey especially because there was a point where she dropped out of the club, but it's also a bit of a continuity error because she had also been saying she wanted the club to rejoin in her journal entry in a precious chapter.
Stacey reasonably suggests that they work out the problems with the club and deal with those before they jump into anything (which is good because it's clear Kristy learned nothing about having a flexible schedule.) she also says she is surprised the clients haven't run them out of town, and frankly, I'm surprised too given their behavior since the breakup.
Claudia is still reluctant because she's mad at Mary Anne, when seriously, the whole fight was claudia's fault in the first place when she insisted everyone do art when they were happy with Mary Anne's activity. Claudia says she thinks Mary Anne acts like she knows better than her and doesn't ask what they should do with the kids. I am sorry, but I don't ever remember seeing this issue in another book. It happened during just that one sitting job. I feel like claudia is being really petty and getting mad over nothing.
Mary Anne says claudia is the creative one and everyone likes her better, but Claudia says Mary Anne is the better listener, and they're all softened up by compliments and make up.
They all start laughing and hitting each other with shit and Janine comes in and asks if she's going to need to start wearing earplugs again. God I love her.
Claudia is worried about her grades but there was never a concern (at least from her) about the BSC interfering with her grades before. Finally, they agree to a trial period of one month of BSC and see how it goes. Mary Anne cries, of course, and everyone's happy and yay. But they still never solved any of the problems they had before!!! (All or most instigated by Kristy.)
