I thin Ann meant this sort of behavior to be an insult, but,
like with Richard, it ends up making her the most believable
character of her age group.

Exactly, its just like how we're suppose to think Janine is
horrible or Jenny's a monster and again they along with Richard
come off the most believable

Uh, she's taking advantage of temporarily being 17 and having sex.
Seriously, this is about all we're going to see of Stacey until Chapter
22.  She's pretty much hiding with her new crush doing stuff....

I'm sad we never got the follow up Stacey's teen pregnancy.
Or maybe she keeps birth control with her at all times

Mal lampshades the stupidity.

LOL

I like this Dawn and hope the aliens keep the original Dawn we saw earlier.

That would be so nice.

caring Mary Anne asked, “Do you have any idea how far Aruba is
from Hooksett Crossing?”

Wow Mary Anne that's so nice and caring. I can see how people think
your the nice, caring and sensitive one.

Mary Anne is such a BITCH in this book!!

Yes she is! She's horrible in this book.

As she sees it, Dawn picked a fight with her (I side with Dawn), and whines
that Dawn accused [her] of being insensitive (because it's the truth, Mary Anne!), and then says, What a baby. Why did I ever think she was one of my best friends?

This is what really pisses me off about the girls. They constantly blame other
people when its their own fault. Mary Anne was a bitch when Dawn came to talk
to her. And some how thinks it was Dawn's fault and thinks she's the baby.
They can't ever see that their the one who was wrong.

None of the BSC's crappy sculptures won.

This makes me very happy.

She totally is, Pisty

You tell her Claudia!

He looked about twenty-five. Well, maybe that didn’t matter. I could fall in
love with an older man . . . couldn’t I? It happens all the time. I mean, to
other people.

Sure Claudia its not like its illegal or those men it happens to end up
in jail or anything.

I have no respect for people who thought that movie is sexy and wonderful.
It's horrifying, and Ana is even obviously scared the entire time.

I can't figure out how anyone sees it as so sexy and awesome. He
clearly is a horrible abusive ass who beats, controls and stalks
Ana. How is that romantic and/or sexy?

However, these actions, as said, aren't appropriate in a kids' book where
a girl is crushing about a man old enough to have been her own babysitter,
and when she's daydreaming about kissing him when his hand is on her arm.
INAPPROPRIATE

Exactly!

This book never does make it clear that there'd be a HUGE problem if a man
at least 25 years old had a crush on a child.  Only once does anyone eeven
suggest that maybe he's too old, and it's who you'd least expect.

This is what drives me crazy about Claudia's crush on Guy and Stacey's
on Wes. No one ever mentions the HUGE problem with them. Everyone acts
as its cool, normal and the girls totally have a chance. No one brings up
that its illegal. That if he's interested in Claudia it means he's a
pervert. We're not suppose to be happy that the girls don't end up
with the grown men.
