This is so insane. So Stacey should be let off the hook even though she was hanging out with older kids doing dangerous things? What is wrong with Dawn? Stacey should be busted for that. She was in an accident and she could have been seriously hurt or worse.

I'd really love to know because as you pointed out. Nothing anyone does makes Dawn happy.
But Dawn totally gives her dad permission to marry Carol, so I guess it's all good now
She must forget all about this when Jack does propose to Carol considering she steals his credit card and takes a flight back to Connecticut.
I can't imagine how I'd deal with it if I found someone I really loved and had to consider not being with them because my kids are self-absorbed assholes.
It would be really hard but I'd love Jack to tell his kids to grow up and treat his girlfriend with respect. At least that's what the parents I know did. If their kids were being assholes to their girlfriend, they'd get in trouble for it.
I would be sympathetic if Carol were a total bitch to the kids or something, but she's nothing but nice to them.
Maybe their trying to get her to leave which is crappy and its kind of hard to tell since Dawn and Jeff are always such assholes to her. And Dawn's an ass to everyone. But I also knew kids growing up who actually did have assholes for stepparents. Carol isn't it. She's nice, friendly and tried really hard to give Dawn and her friends a good vacation. If she was horrible she wouldn't have driven them around.
I don't even get why Dawn cares so hard in this book since she's still insisting that she'll never leave Stoneybrook in it. And yeah, I wish someone had thrown this in her face when she threw that epic fit and stole her dad's credit card.
