It also took me a really long time to figure out my aunt’s name was Angela and not Annabelle. We always just called her Ann for short, and my mom called her Annabelle so I assumed that Ann was short for Annabelle and not Angela.
I had a similar thing with my aunt her name was Connie so I assumed it was short for Constance. Nope, it was short for Corinne. Which until then I never heard it as a nickname for Corinne. I always heard Corrie.
she says it like it’s a huge deal. To kids their age, it is. I remember when I thought staying out until one in the morning was late
I remember it being a big deal when I was that little. I was so excited to get to stay up that late. Of course I always fell asleep but I tried every year until I made it. Now even though I'm awake reading or watching a movie I usually forget until I hear the fireworks going off.
I’m pretty sure if I left Karen’s presence I’d be like, “Can you hear the silence? It’s so beautiful,” or “I think I can hear birds sing. I’d forgotten what that sounded like
I bet that's what all of Karen's family thinks when she leaves. Especially her brothers David Michael and Emily Michelle can finally play games they want to play. Charlie has one less sister to drive around.
It’s the new year and it seems full of possibilities and maybe it’s the year you’ll actually finish something you’ve been working on for a while and it’ll be the start of a new and improved you. At least that’s how it is for me.
Its fun to think of things you can change and improve.
So Karen has to change the sheets and take them down to the laundry room and put Emily to bed. I’m pretty sure that Mallory has had to do something like that a bunch of times
I was going to ask whether anyone would really have a seven year old do all of that until you mentioned Mallory. Yep, she was so doing that at seven. She probably started changing sheets at three or four.
So it’s quite fine for Karen to change her resolutions because she’s a hypocrite.
That's Karen in a nutshell.
How would Karen know how hard Nannie’s been working? I think Karen’s being really judgmental.
Seriously, Nannie broke her hip right? It can be really hard to recover from that and painful. Not that Karen understands that, or cares.
He says Karen isn’t the boss of the world and she doesn’t control everyone. Go, Ricky! High five!
