see, this kid really needs to be taken out of this situation.

Yes, she does.

LOL, probably because you ARE a little kid who needs comfort, you dipshit, thirteen is a far cry from being the adult you seem to think you are.

Yeah, thirteen is still a kid.

SO, maureen tells stacey she'd better run along to be questioned, and says she'll take care of charlotte. ya know, because it's not like stacey is a MINOR or anything, and therefore, by LAW she can't be questioned by the cops without a parent or guardian present. fucking seriously.

What? Who leaves their thirteen year old to be questioned by the police? I hope Ed hears about this and sues for custody.

a woman carrying seven shopping bags. i remember, because i counted. i was amazed that anybody could do so much shopping in one day."

Really, Stacey? I find it hard to believe she's never done that. In fact she and Maureen probably did that all of the time.

'each kid is different, and i love finding out who they are and what they like to do.'

I'll bet. So she knows how much brainwashing she has to do to get them to give up tv, playing by themselves and free will.

, charlie is pretty much the father in this household, even after watson came onto the scene.

Yes he is

what i wanna know is, is kristy still plotting this chick's death for stealing mary anne? or is she going to plot mary anne's death so she can get tasha hotstuff all to herself? inquiring minds need to know!

Yeah, its a little weird how quick she noticed how hot Tasha is. Sounds like Mary Anne is history

charlie had been staring at tasha this whole time, because, you know, seventeen year old dudes are totally into prepubescent girls. or as stacey puts it, 'obviously he thought she was something special.' now kristy will have to kill you, too, charlie. kristy thomas doesn't like to share, damn it!

Okay, Tasha has got to be creeped out after being checked out by a girl and her brother. And Mary Anne.

"in iowa, no--in oregon. sometimes i get mixed up."

I know its suppose to be a clue and/or reasons for them to suspect the family. But being born and raised in a city that has military bases. I would have assumed they were army/navy brats and not found that odd at all. I knew tons of kids by Georgie's age who had been stationed to so many places they mixed them up.

first off, you can use a VCR to record movies and stuff off of the damned tv, old man, you don't need to join some video rental store. and second, movies are NOT a waste of time

Ah, yeah why not just record movies off the tv? Also, renting videos really weren't that expensive and its not like renting videos required a background check.

i don't believe that she did it all in half an hour, but whatever.

Seems unlikely for Stacey.

i think kristy has a point. our clients have to trust us completely, and if they have any doubts, it might hurt our business."

I'm sorry do Dawn and Kristy really think their clients would believe the BSC was passing around fake money?

stacey hangs her head and says she 'somehow forgot' about what happened with the gardellas.

How do you forget being accused of stealing? It would make more sense if she didn't want to think about it, but I find it hard to believe she forgot about it.

i was glad when kristy announced that all our money seemed okay.'

Yes because she's the expert.

I thought Stacey totally would spent a bunch of Ed's money buying a bunch of stuff and then bitched about how he had to work all weekend and didn't spend any time with her.

i'm sure that must've happened in at LEAST one of these books!

"Yes, she does."
--for all the times these girls try to convince us what stellar baby-sitters they are and how important their charges are to them, they really don't actually SHOW IT a lot of the time. and this is one case that was handled so fucking badly, it's impossible to ignore.

"Yeah, thirteen is still a kid."
--because of these books, i thought that once i turned 13 i'd not only feel like an adult, but be treated like one too. boy was i in for a fucking shock! but looking back on it, i'm glad i wasn't treated like an adult the second i turned 13, because at that age, you really ARE still a child.

"What? Who leaves their thirteen year old to be questioned by the police? I hope Ed hears about this and sues for custody."
--seriously on both counts!! the fucked up thing is, later on in another mystery, mary anne's dad does the same damned thing, and he's not only the best parent in stoneybrook, but a fucking LAWYER! as much as in this book, maureen could claim ignorance about this, richard CAN'T, so that was probably worse, because he knew better. as much as i love richard, he fucking sucked for that. maureen sucks for it too, though. the parents in these books are AWFUL. even if i didn't know that it was actually the LAW that a parent or guardian be present when a minor is being questioned, if cops wanted to question my (metaphorical) kid, i would INSIST on being there.

"Really, Stacey? I find it hard to believe she's never done that. In fact she and Maureen probably did that all of the time."
--i totally agree. i bet she's done the same thing at least a dozen times, maureen as well. they're both total shopaholics.

"I'll bet. So she knows how much brainwashing she has to do to get them to give up tv, playing by themselves and free will."
--LOL, exactly!

"Yes he is"
--i have a lot of respect for charlie for that, and feel sad for him too, because he was a fucking kid too and shouldn't have been in that position. he loses some of my respect for ogling a thirteen year old, though.

"Yeah, its a little weird how quick she noticed how hot Tasha is. Sounds like Mary Anne is history"
--LMAO!!!!

"Okay, Tasha has got to be creeped out after being checked out by a girl and her brother. And Mary Anne."
--i don't see how she couldn't be. i know i would be. i'd be avoiding these three like the fucking plague.

"I know its suppose to be a clue and/or reasons for them to suspect the family. But being born and raised in a city that has military bases. I would have assumed they were army/navy brats and not found that odd at all. I knew tons of kids by Georgie's age who had been stationed to so many places they mixed them up."
--i would've assumed the same thing, tbh. but there can never be rational or reasonable explanation for things in these books, anyone who is even remotely different is pretty much automatically ~suspicious.~

"Ah, yeah why not just record movies off the tv? Also, renting videos really weren't that expensive and its not like renting videos required a background check."
--lol, seriously. this was one of the dumbest "clues" that there was something "suspect" about this family in the entire book, because it doesn't even make a lick of sense.

"Seems unlikely for Stacey."
--yeah, she seems like the type who would take hours just to pick an outfit and put on makeup. when you factor in breakfast and her most likely having to check her blood sugar and possibly give herself an insulin injection, etc, it's even more unlikely. but time has literally no meaning whatsoever in stoneybrook. it's the land that time forgot.

"I'm sorry do Dawn and Kristy really think their clients would believe the BSC was passing around fake money?"
--it appears they really DO think that, which is stupid as fuck. besides, it's not like the clients would have to worry, they pay the baby-sitters, not the other way around. it's not like you ever hear about the girls giving their clients change back after being paid their probably $3 for a few hours babysitting. lol. this whole thing is literally a non-issue.

"How do you forget being accused of stealing? It would make more sense if she didn't want to think about it, but I find it hard to believe she forgot about it."
--seriously! i would never, ever fucking forget that. i might put it out of my mind, like you said, and not want to think about it, but i wouldn't forget it. and it's not like it happened years ago, it was literally 9 mysteries ago! it was within the same never ending 13th year of her life. so i call total bullshit on her forgetting.

"Yes because she's the expert. "
--lol, seriously! i rolled my eyes so hard when i read that line.
