Mallory and the Ghost Cat! Part 1!

Nov 01, 2015 23:52

Greeting, my lovlies! How was everyone's Halloween? Mine was very mild. I just dressed as a half-assed wendigo and handed out candy. We did get some cute trick or treaters though. And even though I promised I'd headbutt any kid in a Minion costume, I lied. Maybe next year. Anyways, as I predicted, I did not get this up in time for Halloween but ( Read more... )

Mal says she hates the way she looks and one of the things she mentions disliking is her hair.--It figures. I still feel sympathetic for Mallory when it concerns her being so down on herself. She probably got a 'high' off her new haircut for 5 minutes before somebody made her feel like shit and she went back to hating herself as usual ( ... )

Yeah, it's weird that Mal would be back to hating her hair. Because usually when she talks about not liking her looks, she mentions at least she got her ears pierced. Her haircut was an important element of her makeover too so, why is it back like it was? So, either she did start feeling bad about it again or Ellen Miles is a piss poor writer.

I know the feeling when it comes to Mal's hair. Even after I get mine done, I still end up hating it because it is thick, frizzy and uncooperative unless I spend hours styling it and I have no time for that. I have yet to find an affordable stylist able to handle my rat's nest. Until then, ponytails it is.

The Craine girls are adorable! I love how they made Mal one of their 'Buds' and how sweet they were.

I forgot everything I ever knew when I saw those illustrations. Holy Shit I love them!

The cat peeking over MA's wailing fountain of tears is genius.

Love the illustrations!

Uncle Joe agreed and because it's (spoiler alert!) revealed that he's suffering the first stages of Alzheimer's, it makes sense that he would agree to such an insane thing

That really is. Why else would he come to spend a few months with the Pikes?

Uncle Joe continues to be such a letdown by asking to wash his hands after Claire touched them. Uh, I do this. Having kids touch me physically sickens me.

That reminds me of Luke on Gilmore Girls ranting on how kids always have jam hands, even if there's no jam in the house they have jam hands.

I've never seen Gilmore Girls but I agree that children have a way of always being sticky. Exactly why I try to avoid them at all costs.

Sorry to be so late to the party. Love this snark, as always. I absolutely LOATHE when a BSC book broaches a heavy subject, such as Alzheimer's, eating disorders, behavioral disorders, strokes, bullying, etc, etc. I am not saying that these writers are not qualified to write heavy subject (although many/most are NOT capable), but its insulting when the subject matter is presented as if the writer is an expert, nay- GOD of whatever subject is being approached and unsuspecting youths were like "Well, an adult said it, so....must be true!". Please don't write about a medical issue if you have no experience/knowledge/sensitivity to the subject is what I want to scream to the writers. Thank you for handling the snark with some sensitivity ( ... )
