I'm still waiting for my tablet cable to come in and I wanted to do something to occupy my time, so I snark. It's funny, but I remember liking this book because it had the awesome shopping/piercing spree in it, but reading it now there's points I hate. And really that's all Ann's fault. She's seriously such bad writer! She has more contradictions

SVH is so bad, it's good and so good, it's bad. It's pure nostalgia (as are BSC books) for me; I think that's what makes them have such a great re-read value :)

I wore barefoot sandals when we spent time in the desert. Then I realized there were scorpions and other stinging/biting things and I almost invested in combat boots. Bugs and I do not mix!

I didn't read BSC after Abby joined the club (when I was a kid.) So it amazes me what a stone cold bitch Dawn became, and my all time favorite Dawn moment of all time has to be when she steals her fathers credit card number and books her happy ass a flight back to CT because Carol and her dad are getting married. I love reading how Sharon lays the smack down on her, and between her and Richard and Mimi, they're the only parents I give props to in this town that is thankfully fictional.

Speaking of favorite parent moments in the BSC, my all time, hands down favorite Mimi moment was in the BSC Remember, and Claudia drew the butterfly as a self portrait (which, I'll admit, is pretty damn cool for a little kid to do). I LOVE how Mimi marches into the school and, without raising her voice or being rude or loud, calmly tells the teacher that she's basically full of shit, and it sucks for her that the rest of her class isn't as advanced in artistic creativity as her Claudia is and please stop trying to squash that and stop being a bitch. God, I love Mimi.

Someday I'll recap the book with Dawn stealing money and running crying to mommy because her daddy didn't ask permission on who he can marry. Someday I'll be just crazy enough to do it.
