I was gonna go through the Jessi books, but changed my mind. See, I'm a dancer, and dancers love to dance, and be generally active. My summer plans included
hiking around Silver Falls and seeing every waterfall, hiking to the top of
Multnomah Falls for a picnic, and going to Disneyland, among other things. Basically things that require the ability

I've got the blue copy. It's one of the few BSC books I still have in the house with me.
Talk about survivors, Dawn is a champion one.--We're talking about the divorce and move only, right? I don't like to have a pissing contest with who's been through a lot and came out ahead, etc. I've been talking about this a lot lately about how a lot of the divorced parents in these books have ugly divorces. I'm thinking a lot of the kids either seen or heard a lot of fighting. I just can't imagine it being a pause fest where the parents are arguing, kids come into the room and the parents agree to finish the argument later. This is painful stuff to go through and moving definitely isn't fun and can be a scary thing. I mentioned before I've stayed in the same area my entire life but I know the worry, fear and dread I'd be going through at the idea of having to get to know a lot of new people. I'm not sure I'd use the phrase 'champion survivor'. I'd just say she's went through some things and she's trying her best to make the best of it all.
She’s an individual, too.--Claudia's the individual in this group. Individuals don't flip and flop because they're near a hot guy.
She stands up for what she believes in, even when no one else believes in it--And she'll rant, rave, moan and bitch because you don't believe in what she believes in.
She’s not stuck-up, though, and she doesn’t step all over people, trying to get her own way. In fact, she’s one of the nicest people I know.--lmao!
The only statement I'll agree with in that whole section is she dresses the way she wants. That's all.
“Awesome!” whispered Kristy. “That’s my dream!”--I have to admit I'm enjoying Kristy showing an offbeat side to herself. It's nice to see her get excited about something besides kids and babysitting.
and Mrs. Sobak, a newbie, calls.--I think the Sobak parents definitely belong on the 'out of touch' list. I'm talking before, during and after the fact. What are the chances the other babysitters that refuse to babysit Betsy haven't given a reason for why they never want to babysit for her again? Or what are the chances the Sobak parents haven't come out and asked? Not to mention how they still have the balls to call the club after Claudia got hurt. Remember the Roseanne episode when Becky and Dana got drunk? Remember the ass chewing Becky got after the fact? That's the kind of stuff I would've (rightfully) gotten if I had pulled a stunt like this and somebody got hurt. Claudia will more than likely have lifelong problems with that leg. I know she mentioned messy weather makes it feel sore. I'm talking even beyond all of that.
Being in great or even good health is such an important part of life. Even an injured body part giving you trouble long after the fact is enough for concern. And no, I can't say anything against Claudia being worried about falling and hurting her dominant hand/arm and worrying about the impact it'd have for her art. I don't even think Claudia was thinking about all the other possible ways she could've hurt herself that would've made a broken leg pale in comparison.
Where was Mrs. Sobak heading to that warranted her speeding out of the house like she did? Or was it just a case of speeding to get the hell away from her daughter. What does this tell you? Maybe it's time to step up and be a parent instead of letting the teenage babysitters straighten your daughter out for you?
